@ Archmage Don't forget that Chris O'Donnell's career was pretty hurt by that movie as well, like it got hit by a Level 3 Confusion spell.

I found Laura Dern's portrayal of the poet laureate to be distractingly flighty. I thought she was going to prance around with a wand.

@Yeti wow, you made every point I did, but like, better.
I really miss hearing Jon Miller on Sunday nights. I grew up listening to Vin Scully, and both he and Jon Miller have the perfect voices for baseball; languid, relaxed, making me want to pop out the footrest on a La-Z-Boy.
I do enjoy when the Apple Sisters break character and laugh at themselves, usually about some absurdity with trying to pretend it's 1943. But all the fart noises and giggling sounded like kids in the back of a station wagon on a long road trip.
Rosenthal did put his dad on the show, as a member of Frank's lodge. I guess that's not as good as a house.
Props to you, Rebecca Black, for sticking up for a show that debuted around the time you were born. I know it's not cool or hip to like ELR, that it didn't change the world like maybe Seinfeld did. I just have an appreciation for a good, classic sitcom with sharp writing, a show that would have worked well in the…
Farts
The Apple Sisters episode was, humor-wise, I think their worst effort so far…the VD player guys were just cheesy and the whole episode devolved into fart noises. But man, the the Whoops Daddy song they did was just harmony magic. I'd consider buying their album if it has that song on it.
Unabashed Raymond fan
I love this guy. Love listening to his commentaries on the Raymond episodes, love when he comes on the Adam Carolla podcast. I hope to one day be invited to one of his home pizza parties where he shows a movie, than has someone from that movie talk about it.
@Ronaldino At least ESPN Rachel Nichols doesn't always have her bottle-red hair pushed off to one shoulder all the time now. It used to look like she was always posing for her high school yearbook photo.
One man's opinion
Man, Adam Carolla hates these guys.
Rachel Nichols the NFL reporter for ESPN?
Relief
I'm glad that this sounds like a decent movie. The original, along with the Reanimator, were my two favorite '80s horror movies. I'm glad that the tagline for this review says it's "smart", because that's definitely the word I think of when I think of the original.
I loved Choose Your Own Adventures, probably owned the first thirty or so. My hands were all over those books. Literally. I would stick a finger on a page before I went forward, so I could always flip back quickly if the outcome sucked. It would get to the point where my fingers were "saving" like 6 or 7 spots.
I believe the GoBots were first as well. I had a red scooter GoBot, that was terrible-looking as a robot and terrible-looking as a scooter. Man, they were such garbage.
I'm with A Cowardly Lot on this one. The show annoyed me as a kid, but for some reason I kept on watching. I found the pacing way too slow, like Noel says, information was parsed out week by week. I think part of the reason I kept watching was that there was some continuity week-to-week, in contrast to other kid tv…

Funny, a friend of mine worked with Christenfeld on this study. She asked me to try and track down a written transcript of a story we had heard on This American Life to possibly be used in this study. We had a couple of friendly debates on whether or not people really want their novels / movies spoiled for them.
