And also, for every person talking about articles/complaints/”backlash”, there’s a hundred (thousand?) people who don’t bother reading online gaming news, and just download games they see and play them. Because ‘popular’ downloads get featured on the front page of everyone’s phone-app store. There could be no articles

Something, something, “activist court”?

Yeah, this is why I can’t bring myself to subscribe to these “big game library!” services, no matter the platform. I’ve got enough backlog, thanks. I don’t need hundreds/thousands of more games at my fingertips.   No Gamepass, no Apple Arcade, no PS Plus Plus.  /meh

And now, here’s Chuck, with the weather! How’s it feelin’ out there, Chuck?

Yes.

Yea, but updates breaking mods isn’t exactly uncommon.

Yeah, that header picture made me think “ooh, Fallout 3 remaster?” for a second before I saw the headline.

The game suggested that you pay money after your first dungeon. Remember that 99 cent one? Small, but it absolutely counts. And it’s just the start.

While I acknowledge that New Vegas was the critically “better” game, I preferred Fallout 3 & 4. Because I enjoy Bethesda’s environmental storytelling - not the quests & dialogues, but all the odd stories you find hidden in piles of clutter & skeletons & notes. Obsidian didn’t do that nearly as well in New Vegas -

Those random forgotten corners of Skyrim & Fallout had all sorts of interesting things to discover - stories laid out in bodies & wreckage, teddy bear dioramas, all sorts of little curated environmental details.   Which is why I’m a bit worried about the “1000 planets” thing, because it’s way too much space for them

The fact that your character is going to be voiceless, combined with the ridiculously detailed character creator - for a game played entirely from first person so you can never actually see that character - makes me pretty sure they are still catering to the kind of player that wants to be their own self-insert in

My main “not like D:I” hope is that there’s no forced-multiplayer MMO-lite overworld.  I play ARPGs solo, dammit.

Grim Dawn, which is very Titan-Quest-like, is apparently on XBox these days.

I’d rather not deal with Yet More launchers & accounts (and handing more people my info) if I’m not forced to. There’s too many already. And bribing me with free games/punishing me with ‘exclusivity’ contracts, isn’t enough. /shrug

Woohoo! Thanks. :D

I remember playing with the Saint’s Row 3 character creator/demo.

Am I the only one who has the Comments section cut off on slideshows (Firefox)? If I type past 4 lines, even the “publish” button disappears behind the page footer. Even when I narrow the page so all the slides appear at once.

Thanks for inspiring some curiosity - turns out the only ActiBliz games I’ve bought in the last decade+ have been the Spyro Trilogy remaster, and Diablo 3. Don’t really have a lot of strong feelings about the company. /shrug

As much as those odds, and that system, are absurd (including how bad the “pity” system is). . . I can’t help but think that the whole attitude shown by the quote:

Yeah, I was going to say that everyone who reads Kotaku knows about those guys.
