I watched the video. He goes past a “flooded” sign and continues for five full seconds, straight into standing water. Without braking. Not a “Flood Area” type sign. Past tense. Flood’s already happened. Then he hydroplanes, and slides across the center line and into the bog on the other side of the road.

Its a niche vehicle meant to be a halo for the companies rollout of more sensible vehicles on the same platform. Its not supposed to make sense. That being said, 45 MPGe is still a damn sight better than anything I drive.

As much as I dislike how Tesla uses term like Autopilot and Full Self Driving inappropriately, this is on the driver. Standing water in the road is one of those things I would expect is pretty advanced and difficult for a non-human driver to see in time to slow down to an appropriate speed.
