I looked into the Illinois statutes. Battery is a misdemeanor; aggravated battery is a felony. It doesn’t look like the damage was enough (nor were weapons used, nor did anyone fall into a special category) for aggravated battery (although, apparently, it would have been arguable had that guy been 60 instead of 59).

Yeah, where I’m from, that initial tirade was Assault, taking a swing at the old guy (whether it connected or not) was Battery. This scumbag should be in make-me-your-bitch Orange right now.

Might not be the best week for Eric Trump to talk about morality.

Trump has a number of anti-hispanic and anti-middle eastern policies. When people deputize themselves into Homeland Security and ICE, they aren’t very nuanced differentiating between hispanics, asians, native americans, middle easterns, etc.

And that it would jeopardize existing relationships with key clients AND recruiting efforts for the firms. Basically: he’s trash, he stiffs people (can you imagine the billable hours on this shit?), he’s too dumb/mentally impaired to know when to shut the fuck up, and he’s bad for business. There’s no benefit anywhere…

I can see how this is a compassionate move.  This being said, I can also conceive that it might be a slippery slope.
