I think I had a discussion about Pete Rose’s claim to the Hit King title in this here forum and my argument is that Rose was never a great hitter. He never had the kind of season that defines a Hall of Fame career. Pretty much all the numbers tell us that Rose wasn’t even the best hitter of his era.
