I’m guessing they knew it was going to happen and still wanted to test the mode to see if people like it before putting in the additional work to avoid cheaters. IIRC, you don’t earn any XP or anything (other than the event challenge or two), so it’s not like the cheaters are really getting anything out of this.

I just want competitive mystery heroes. I haven’t had interest in any mode besides mystery heroes in about 2 years.

Totally disagree that this mode should be permanent. When I played it solo, it just became another boring BR. Teams, whether of friends or of randoms, is how the game was designed and it’s so much better that way (and IMHO, better than other BR games because of it among other things).
