I am absolutely puzzled by that 0-60 figure. Supposedly my 2016 FiST can only manage 6.9 while weighing less and with considerably more hp and tq.

I was expecting some sort of genuinely reckless behavior. Instead I saw a driver use a turn signal (!!) to merge over gradually one lane at a time in quite slow-moving traffic, which doesn’t strike me as illegal.
Why do Toyota special editions never have a powertrain upgrade? I’d prefer the fake turbo diesel hood scoop of the old RAV4 over the new skid mark on the hood.

I can’t bring myself to get rid of my ‘08 V6 Sport. Nothing in the price/size range has that power anymore. Plus you can select all 5 forward gears, and there is a (albeit weird) sequence you can perform to disable the traction control which is great fun in the “4WD” version that just blindly kicks power to the back…
I want something less common, but also want something reliable that I can count on like I’ve counted on my Mazda 3 – am I being unrealistic?

Lots of smartasses here but all joking (or joke failures) aside, it’s pretty bad when a car changes its behavior during extreme maneuvers. Snap oversteer when something breaks? Kudos to Porsche for being proactive and admitting the problem (not that they have a perfect record in this regard...).

I’ve been a skateboarder most of my life. I’ve done some dumb things but never this dumb. I know we don’t see it but I’m willing to bet the skater wasn’t paying attention got spooked when the driver honked, fell off his board in front of his friends and decided he had to be a badass.
Not that I’m defending dangerous driving but after watching the video I’m skeptical that the skateboarder got hit. I used to skate. The amount of time between the honk and the glass smash doesn’t feel like enough for the skater to have been knocked off his board, recover, collect his board, which should have rolled…
it doesn’t sound like the skateboarder got knocked off the board. He might have been startled and jumped off when he saw the car coming, but it doesn’t sound like he got hit by the car.
