One other thing to look at closely, advises Consumer Reports, is the minimum investment requirements. “An index fund can require a $500 minimum or as much as $25 million to invest,” CR reports. “An index fund with bigger minimums is generally targeted toward institutional investors.”

A raffle is not buying something. If it were, I could buy $380m this weekend for $1.

But that’s just a regular old perfectly reasonable 300-500% cost of living raise since the 2016 recommendations!  What, did you not get one of those in your line of work?

Tip. ($10/day, per person who stayed) If your stay is multiple days, tip every day you expect cleaning service. Seriously.

It is clear that in the US NO ONE leaves $10 per person per day. As you’ll see in the links below, only around a third of people tip at all, and even a union for hospitality workers only suggests $3-5 per room per day, similar to the Tripadvisor guidance above. It’s patently ridiculous for Land to try to establish $10

$10 per day, per person?!?

Lolwut? $10/day/person?! So for a week long trip, a small family (or group of friends) could tip a few hundred dollars?

Personally, I think it should be a “no gifts please” party until they are 4. While all kids are different, my daughter really didn’t care that much at 3 but at 4 presents were so awesome.

You’re right about Aquarium of The Bay. I was dragged there once and was very underwhelmed. I was like “that’s it?”. For the money they charge you’re better off at the Academy of Sciences or Monterey.

Portland:

Yeah, I feel like this borders on manipulative. This is also the type of shit that makes it difficult for people to get the OK to work remotely.

First, anyone else present should be disclosed. No one likes to be blindsided by finding out that what they thought was a private conversation ... wasn’t.

Deadspin as a whole hates VAR and will force every single narrative to fit that, no matter what. Yesterday’s article basically hand-waved the Florenzi foul away with what boiled down to “blatant cheating shouldn’t be called if you weren’t very good at it and didn’t get caught right away”. Today it’s “probably a foul”.

You’re right on both accounts, and I’ll throw in that in the two VAR instances in Porto-Roma the call was 1) correct both times, and 2) the shouts as to why both instances weren’t reviewed would’ve been far louder than the fact that both were reviewed.

The ruling was that because Ajax’s Dušan Tadić came from an offside position to impede Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, the goal would not stand, and yet, did he truly impede Courtois?”

I am absolutely saying hes an idiot.

Doesnt work very well on paper ;-)

In fairness though, don’t you hate every team’s fans? Be honest. They all suck.

This happens every couple of years. And the cycle is always the same.

1) Media fawns about it.
2) Authorities get wind of it.
3) Turns out it was always an illegal lottery and it gets shut down.

We toke the train from Denver to SF a few years ago. Very memorable and beautiful trip.
