I served on a jury for a six-week murder trial in state court a few years back. A month after the trial ended, I got called for federal jury duty. There was a list of exemptions on the back, and having served jury duty (state or federal) in the previous year was on the list, but it required TONS of paperwork.

I’ve been in court when there weren’t enough jurors, and the judge was PISSED. He told the sheriff to go out and arrest people who’d skipped jury duty that day. It was kind of crazy.
