I agree with you. The Jimmy/Chuck stuff was fresh and interesting; The cartel/drug stuff feels like a road we’ve already been down.  I mean, I’ve seen Gale Boetticher recruited once.  Do I really want to see it again?

I’m 8 years late but. Yes on the writing. Everyone telling Wesley to shut up when he’s the only one making any sense is ridiculous.  Too many supposedly advanced people acting like dumbasses on this series.  Not sure I can continue with TNG.  At least TOS owned its campiness.

Troubling behavior.  But everybody has bad days.  She might be high and/or mentally ill.  Does it excuse her behavior?  no. not at all.  but it doesn’t hurt to have compassion, even on people we don’t think deserve it.
