Very well said, can’t agree with you more.

That should have been “Given the weakness of the Canadian dollar these days it’s probably 100k in CDN$.”. Sorry for the confusion, I’m not sure what I was thinking.

Thats, thats, thats … awesome! :-)

Thats total BS unless NASA is paying the bill in full. Boeing has so much sunk into the 787 and 777X, not to mention the 737-10X and 757 replacement that they also want to build, that they simply don’t have teh cash on hand to do it on their own. So it will happen on NASA’s schedule and that means 2035 at the earilest

I suspect that’s not the new theme song however, it’s not uplifting enough. Personally I’m rooting for this. Appropriate for the show’s format and a subtle (ok, not-so-subtle) dig at the old Top Gear...

Sure doesn’t take long to find something weird on the Seattle CL. Presenting a 1987 Nissan Skyline R31 *Station Wagon*. I didn’t even know that that this existed! Or did someone do an awesome conversion?

I’m sure Elon Musk will be happy to stamp the passport of the first NASA astronauts to land on Mars. I bet they get primo rooms at the Mars Hilton too...

Gotta agree with the Corvair. Parts are very available for those cars, both new and used you can buy anything you need at a reasonable price. They are quite reliable and fun to drive. My only advice is to not get the turbo model but to go for the 4-carb 140 engine instead. Oh and get a rust-free one from the west

Been there, done that in a roommate’s gen 1 GTI back in the late ‘80s at a local autocross. It was a real Joey Chitwood moment as I caught it as it was going up at the perfect balance point. I remember thinking for a moment “Hey, I could keep it here!” before coming to my senses and abandoning the course to steer out

All good choices if one is looking for a street-only bike but some of us might want to ride on dirt or unimproved roads occasionally as well. For those folks I suggest the Kawasaki KLR250 and KLR650. Both are decent dual-purpose bikes and have been around for a long, long time (the 250 is out of production now but was

I still have one of those and it even works. I have the speech synthesizer and everything. My teenage soon even enjoys playing old Atari games like Defender on it occasionally.

Yes the photo is of a Fiesta with a 1.6. My 2011 SES (now replaced with an ST) had exactly that shifter (my mother drives the SES now).

My wife had never ever driven an automatic until she took our son to his driver’s test in his automatic Mustang. She thought it was ok but she’s keeping her manual Mercedes kompressor hatchback! :-)

For the Fiesta this is not as rediculous of a note as it seems at first glance. If you don’t pause before shifting into reverse to let the engine slow to idle you’ll grind the gears every time. Now that I’ve switched from a NA 1.6 Fiesta to an ST it’s not such a big deal as the ST drops to idle more quickly but with

Reminds me of Mr Incredible’s car which was sort of a Fiat/Nash Metropolitan mashup.

Why go through all that trouble when you can just amplify the signal from the existing fob inside the house like on virtually any other keyless entry system?

These are the best class 1 handles ever and for that matter the best doors ever, only the BMW Z1 is even in the same class.

Where do cars like the Bugeye Sprite fit? No outside door handle and a simple and unique lever inside. My 1928 Franklin roadster is similar with no outside handle at all, just a lever inside and a flap to reach through to get to it when the side curtains are installed.

No I am no where near that old, it’s just that one of the cars has been in the family longer than I have and another was purchased before I learned to drive. The one that has been mine the longest was the Corvair that I bought back in high school in the mid-70s. My mom is 88 and has a 1956 T-bird she’s owned since
