You don't need just good clothing, you need good shoes too. It's surprising how any folks will get good leathers and then just wear normal or even worse tennis shoes.

Chevrolet Corvair. Not only does it have a frunk with small 10x10x6” spaces with bolt on covers on each side of the convertibles have 4 bolt-on oilcan-sized harmonic balancers in each corner of the car that could also hold a lot. But mostly it has a covered tunnel for the shifter, heater and wiring that one could…
In our case just about everything. How about rolling your tow rig on the way to your first 24 Hours of Lemons race? It was a snowy Christmas morning in Seattle (a very rare occurrence) but we needed to get to Thunderhill for the race and decided that the weather wasn’t *that* bad. We made it all of about 50 miles when…
This is what flags are for, unfortunately the flaggers at that corner were a little slow. I’ve raced Lemons at this track and at that spot the flagger gets most of my attention. If I had any doubts about what was over the crest I’d move over towards the right side of the track with the assumption that any accidents…
Well certainly not when you are spending an unexpected night in the city last summer because Southwest stranded you there without so much as buying you a latte. We rented a car and drove into the city proper for dinner but got caught up in I-794 road construction. We finally found our way after three trips across the…
My father was in the flight training class before Boyington at Pensacola. I asked my dad what he thought of Boyington and he said he was a “conceited son of a bitch”. In all fairness I suspect that same phrase could have been used to describe my father at the time...
I looked up the Wikipedia page for Glonass and it seemed to indicate that as recently as last year it was not 100% operational, especially over areas not in the former Soviet Union. Given the speeds and locations involved if you didn’t have continous communication with 3 of the 24 satellites existant (the bare minimum…
While I am not one to usually back up Putin, on this issue I think the Turks don’t have much of a leg to stand on. If you look at the geography of the area it’s easy to accidentally overfly their airspace briefly, especially as I suspect the Russians don’t have anything as accurate as GPS in their aircraft. This sort…
You just need to come to Seattle, we have an incredible array of old vehicles up here including probably 90% of the Peugeots still running.
4 actually because you have to wait twice, once to pre-pay and a second time to get your change. Admit it, if you have to wait 4 minutes in line each time you went to buy something at a particular store you’d likely start shopping somewhere else.
I’m pretty sure that the space station will be around for years to come but of course a lot of the equipment and perhaps whole modules will gradually be replaced. The biggest issue to keeping it operating are the solar panels but I’ve heard that there are plans to recover them without doing a total replacement.
Yes but that means having to wait in line with all of the folks buying beer and Doritos. A gas company card is a lot easier IMHO without having the risk that using a bank card does.
Sorry, that’s just a shorthand for “smartphone-enabled payment system”, like using “band-aid” or “Xerox” to mean bandage strip or photocopy.
A friend of mine got hit last week at one of the two stations I use occasionally, both of which are very busy stations too. So far I have not noticed huge amount of funds disappearing from my account (well ones that my wife hasn’t spent at least) but I’m sure to keep an eye on it.
So you want to celebrate Sea World’s jumping the shark by literally jumping the shark, err orca? :-)
Maybe Professor Farnsworth’s Planet Express Ship is powered by the Heart of Gold’s Infinite Improbability Drive from Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy?
Respectively if any of the 2016 candidates are likely to make changes to keep jobs in the US it would be Bernie Sanders. Trump talks a good line but he would be too willing to make a “deal” while Bernie could care less about deals if he can somehow protect US workers.
