Much better than what my 2006 NC had then! The twins still come with crappy Prius tires though...

How much of that is tires though? I own a Fiesta ST and was surprised just how quickly the tires wore out. My Miatas on the other hand (I’ve owned 5, one of each generation) generally have came with 40,000+ all-season tires, not almost race rubber like my ST. This is the FRS’s failing too, if it came with RE-050As

Autocross is 50% driver so that doesn’t mean it’s all the car. I’ve had days when I have straight-timed a good driver in an S2000 with a ’99 Miata and done the same with a Solstice GXP over a Cayman. Does that mean that a Miata is faster than a S2K or a Solstice is faster than a Cayman? No, it just means on those days

Fiat 124 Spider most likely :-).

As Mr Snowden has proven doing anything securely these days is not so easy. As a result the general public has little trust in the government (and not so much for industry either) to keep their data private.

I think these results probably have little to do with Mitsubishi and more to do with Ford. Why spend $27k or more for a GTI when Ford is selling the Focus ST and it's little brother the Fiesta ST for much less after discounts? Sure the GTI is awesome to drive but it's also heavy and frankly VW/Audi doesn't have a

Agreed, the problem is most mileage-measuring devices use GPS and most people don't want the government (and possibly other entities that are hired to do the tracking for government) to record their every movement. WA state considered going to this system for everyone this session but it got shot down, at least for

The $100 a year only applies to all-electric vehicles so you'd be safe with a Prius but not a Leaf. I'm not sure whether Volt drivers have to pay it or not but I don't think so.

Our friends at Hemmings uncovered this picture from the Library of Congress, and even if I'm not sure exactly what it is, I'm still terrified. They think the V8 is a Hispano-Suiza aircraft motor, but as for the rest of the car, who knows?

My wife's C230 hatchback has that same setup and it makes steep hills a real PIA for her. Why Mercedes did that I have no idea...

Did you know that the Eagles started out as one of Linda Ronstadt's back-up bands? If you don't know who Linda Ronstadt is then maybe today's Nice Price or Crack Pipe Eagle will additionally have you asking AMC what? That doesn't mean you still can't get familiar with this '80s flier.

They should have called on The Stig's French cousin...

It's a happy day for the Kazakhs!

Do the numbers for Washington state include the $100/year electric vehicle road tax that was passed in 2012 in their calculations?

My dad’s friend spun a rod bearing on an old Franklin on Snoqualmie pass in Washington state back in the ‘50s. He had some old-style bacon with him so he used it to replace the bearing to get him to Seattle!

At that point I drove home using my left hand for the gas and my right hand for everything else. After a bit of practice I was able to double-clutch and blip the throttle as well. Fortunately 1 hour of the drive was Interstate so I was able to put it cruise (rolled the window up on the wire to hold it in place.)"

Looks like $2.49 nationwide from that chart and $3.18 on the west coast.

I'm ok about the Falklands thing because the Argentinians are still being asshats about it 30 years later. But yeah, the slope comment was terrible and it didn't help things any when they referenced it again in the Argentinian special.

I think it's time for the NHTSA's first-ever driver recall...

Where the hell is gasoline $2.30 a gallon? Here in Seattle we are lucky to see $3/gallon outside the city and $3.25 inside. But electricity is $0.09 a kWh so I guess that explains why there are so many Teslas, Volts and Leafs around...
