That really is the most baffling part about their argument. How can you deconstruct two characters that we’ve just been introduced to? I mean, everyone knows who Batman and Superman are of course, but these were wholly new iterations that we really needed to know more first.

This a million times. You can deconstruct heroes, but first you need to, you know, build them in the first place. Oh, and have someone capable of doing that.

That’s what always rubs me the wrong way the most. That failure to go, “maybe we really fucked up and just made a bad movie,” and instead put the brunt of the blame on the audience. Oh, we’re just a bunch of mouth breathing Cheeto scarfing morons, I guess.

It’s true, they just happen to learn the wrong lessons.
