Just curious, but why is it weird that she hasn't played GTA? I imagine for a lot of gamers there are big franchises that they've never played either because they lacked any interest in them, never owned the consoles or pc to play them, or never got around to it.

Yes.

I was lurking on Neogaf and there are rumors that this new policy will allow indies to self-publish in the Windows 8 marketplace but would limit them to 3GB but not the full 3...which kind of suggests that they may be limited to the Windows OS side and if they want to use the 5gb on the other side, they need a

If you are talking about the UI video where the guy helps out his friend in Killzone, I think he still had to buy the game. It looks like it was just showing off the fact that you can download the multiplayer first if you are in a hurry to get in the game with your friend.

Yeah, I'm having a hard time believing that publishers where completely OK with this feature when they made Sony limited their game sharing from 5 to 2.

While it's nice that they may be bringing back the Family Share feature, I still have a hard time believing that it is or was as good as some where speculating it to be. They never went into detail about it, the document on it was very vague, and the guys at Microsoft seemed to contradict each other on how it would

They are working on Knack but I'm pretty sure they have other teams as well. It's possible they could be working on multiple games or developing with a 3rd party studio like they've done with Level-5. We'll have to wait and see what's announced at Tokyo Game Show.

Eh, I don't think that's true at all. Sony still has a bunch of titles to announce and they've said they are going to have 20 exclusives coming out within the first year. There are still a lot of titles yet to be announced from their first party studios. ND, SSM, Bend, London, Studio Japan, etc. still have some games

Here is my understanding of it:

In the policy document MS released, I believe they said that there wouldn't be any fee to play used games. I could be wrong though but I thought it said that publishers will have to enable you to play, sell, or trade used games.

From what I'm reading on the support forums, Sony has pulled the update.

It looks like Sony pulled the patch. Hopefully they'll have a fix by tomorrow :(

It only applies to the online part of some used games depending on the publisher. Which is how it is now on the PS3 with online passes.

That is not what the X1's DRM applies to. The X1 DRM makes it so that a publisher can block the selling of a used game, the lending/sharing of a game, AND requires 24hr online check.

I'm not surprised that KHIII is going multi-platform but I am surprised it's going to the Xbox and not the Wii U.

I don't understand it either. I know they say we can turn it off but can I unplug it? Is it still required for the Xbox One to function?

I honestly don't think they are worried about the PS4 being so games focused since, as far as we know, it's going have all of the same media features the PS3 had which was very entertainment focused when it launched. They seem to be fine with sticking to the "this is a game console first" message.

It's a fan series, not a TV series funded or endorsed by Sony.
