I also like the moment at the end where Bester is shocked that Byron really wasn't ever going to go along with the idea of "all telepaths are on the same side." I don't remember him ever having a moment of doubt like that before (though I could have forgotten). That almost made this whole rigamarole worth it. Almost.

Yeah, I first heard about this movie on a Cracked.com Worst Twists Ever list, so that killed my interest in watching this movie.
