I can see the lack of color the extra compression causes in the WebP version. It loses its rhythm, while the JPEG is a very danceable format, with a certain warmth to it.

@judacris: This just happened to me, apparently if you're in the field test screen and you get a text message while there, then click reply to go to Messages, the number stays even after pressing home, and you can also still switch back and forth between the number and the bars.
