I know this is only important to roughly 600 people, but EMU also won a great, close game against Wyoming. I can’t remember them ever being 3-1. A great night -- for MANY reasons -- at EMU tonight.

I was at the game. I was standing with some Wyoming fans and several EMU fans. We were right behind the protesters the whole night as they slowly (very slowly) spread from hopping the fence and holding a small area of the fence to standing right behind the goal post in the endzone at the end of the game. However you…
Interesting article about the second largest piece of the pie chart detailing what young men spend time doing on their computers.
Kessel’s awkwardness is one of the best things going in the hockey world right now.
You dusters will never understand.
It’s used in the eastern Canadian hockey world, too. So, basically everywhere.
This is a good post.
In 4 years, if they pick the team right, they will have Matthews, Eichel and Johnson up the middle. The talent is coming, finally.
I think this was the first year Canada dropped below 50% of the NHL. That’s pretty insane.
Kane - Johnson - Kessel (if there was chemistry) would be a nightmare for any opposition line, but you make a very solid point.
The problem is, anybody who knows hockey saw this coming months ago. The roster selection was atrocious. If I am picking Team USA, Kessel is one of the first three people on my list. He didn’t make the team. He was named the top forward at the last Olympics (the last real, major international competition), but wasn’t…
At least we won’t have to deal with the gimmick in 4 years. As much fun as they have been, I’d like Canada to have stronger competition. Team USA will be much stronger when Team NA is taken away.
I dunno... I like to think Team NA was made for dual-citizens like him and myself.
Cooper is on the Team NA bench though.
Completely agree with you. My point is that I understand their thinking. They knew they didn’t stand a chance unless they had someone stand on their head, and they figured if Quick played a great game, he’d be able to stop everything Canada threw at him (similar to the 2010 Olympics.
Every defenseman makes mistakes. Karlsson makes a lot of them and is the best in the world. I don’t think one goal is a reason not to be excited about Rielly. We are going to have a fun team to watch this season! Look forward to that. They aren’t going to be good (yet), but they will be a lot more entertaining than…
Quick was certainly the 3rd best goalie on the USA roster (not the 3rd best American goalie), and I think Schneider is one of the best tenders in the world, but in fairness to those who chose Quick to start, he has always been a very solid big game goalie. He has played great in tournaments previously, and I think…
Very good point. Minor correction, it’s Rielly, not O’Reilly. Rielly is the for the Leafs, O’Reilly the centre for the Sabres.
Young goalies face a very similar issue. I’d have had Gibson in from the start, but that’s probably not all that relevant. Young, inexperienced goalie behind a young, inexperienced defense is rarely a recipe for success. That being said, they played really well, are playing really well, and are still in this. That…
So true. He’s easily their most complete defenseman.
