Completely with you. People have a pretty solid idea what’s happening (those of us who spend too much time on this), and the show is going to get to a (similar) end far before the books. He went from writing groundbreaking, enticing fiction to basically finishing because he has to finish, and that’s not nearly as fun.

Sadly, nobody. He isn’t giving his notes to anybody, or so he has claimed. Even if somebody DOES find a way to finish it, we won’t ever find out what his intention was. Unless you believe his intention was to never finish and screw everyone over with an eternal cliffhanger (I believe this).

This is wonderful. +1

I'm sure it didn't have anything to do with a certain party bus full of hookers...

That is definitely a good point. I never really consider casual/new fans. So what do you think about THIS:

Sadly, this is the most exciting thing ever to happen in Muncie.

You make some good points, but I don't see the need for it to happen. Chicago and LA still had a series, it was still a great series, and we found out who the better of the two teams was at that time. It's just shifting the dates that they have to play each other. If anyone wants to argue that Chicago would have had

Nah, the Maple Leafs didn't oppose the Balsillie deal at all. It was the state of New York opposing Hamilton. South of Toronto there are a lot of Sabres fans, and they are worried that it will hurt Buffalo, not Toronto. The Leafs will be just fine with another team in their neighborhood. They sell out every game (and

What about from games where there were two NHL teams playing each other?

I hope Jacobson is still available in fantasy, those are sick numbers.

Brain fart. Thanks for being that guy!

Quebec City is working on the stadium... I think that an NHL team moving back there is a guarantee at this point. Seattle is more of a hunch, but you're right, I'm not sure what they've offered as far as stadium etc.

It would have been interesting for sure, and probably would have led to different results in the end. I'm not sure LA has as easy of a time with the teams in that bracket — not because they're better but because of travel etc. Chicago could have run into an issue with Anaheim, too.

American's tend to hate soccer because it just drones on and on without goals

I still think they should move two and add two. 32 teams is a much cleaner number, and would eventually (there would be some painful years) spread the talent in the league out a bit more.

First of all, if you think that's a masochist's delight, try being a Leafs fan. Even for a couple of hours. I feel like a cutter.

LA and Dallas have both adopted hockey in a big way. 20 years ago you weren't seeing young players who grew up in those areas in the lower-leagues and NHL. Now you are. Now, that is in part because of the franchise's success (although, how many more cups do Dallas and LA have than Florida?), but also because of the

I trust the economy of the game. I think that players are getting better, and teams have more and more guys playing in the AHL that could be playing on 3rd and 4th lines in the NHL. The league isn't there YET, but I think it will be in a short time.

Well, there was only one team as good as the Blackhawks in the NHL (my opinion) so the Rangers couldn't really come up against one. I think they still had a pretty tough road other than playing the Habs without Price, which was admittedly pretty uneven.

Yessir! I was in Raleigh a few years back during NHL season. There was a game on that night (unfortunately I didn't get to go) and there were enough people in the bars watching the game for me to think it was working there. I think you've hit the nail on the head though: cities without professional sports are the best
