I don’t think the problem is that they chose a villain that was totally unknown to the wider public, the problem is that they made the villain the worst stereotypical bad guy trope possible. His motivation was generic, his powers were unmemorable and no effort was made to make the character compelling in any way.

I suspect in the two-movie version, Steppenwolf was just a harbinger of Darkseid.

I still feel like one of the biggest, most fundamental errors of the movie was in choosing Steppenwolf as the bad guy. Given how many iconic villains DC has, choosing one who’s a deep cut even among the sub-set of the sub-set of the sub-set of people who care about the Fourth World mythos just seems to be an obvious

There’s an article today teased as, “The Ripple Effects of Kyrie Irving’s Injury Setback,” and it’s literally just saying that the Celtics will be worse and their other players will be playing more minutes, as if that was an expert opinion on the topic.

Holy shit- I saw that post over on the Ringer (thankfully did not open it) and thought the exact same thing.

I’m so sick of these subjective click-baity types of articles.

When duke loses, we are all winners

I’m tipping based off complexity of the order. If they’re opening bottles or pouring a draft, that’s a buck per. If they’re mixing something I might give two dollars. I don’t think cost should be a factor. Say they crack open a Bud Light or they crack open an imported beer? I’m supposed to tip more because the beer

Eh, Fennessey doesn’t really comport himself as a movie expert, but he hangs out with a lot of them and does really good interviews with the movie creators themselves. Simmons on the other hand used to do those things, and now only talks to sycophants or does softball interviews with the same 5 players.

I like Simmons but I get tired of his basketball analysis for this same reason: he is a self-appointed expert simply because he loves basketball and watched/watches a lot of basketball. Fennessey seems to love movies but neither of them can explain clearly why a movie is good or why a basketball team is good, simply

The “jets” probably just a tag indicating he would take a jet to wherever he ended up signing. “Jets” if there was a layover.

So if his career averages hold, about a million dollars a touchdown. Or two mil per int, depending on how you want to look at this.

Is this the first fully guaranteed contract? At least for over 5 million? Crazy. Rodgers gotta be laughing. Cause he can ask for 90 all guaranteed. And what can you say?

I wonder if they ever got Olympic fencer Daryl Homer to rank things?

I don’t see exactly why this interview was aired.

Is there a more stereotypical Trumpkin than Trent Dilfer? A mediocre white guy with a head like a penis, from a redneck hellhole, owes his career to the work of others (disproportionately non-white)...

In that moment, Altuve was thinking to himself, “I wish the Dodgers had won.”

She stated that she started to feel the costume falling apart, and “I prayed.”

Disagree.

I’m not usually the conspiracy theory type, but all I’m saying is Timberlake just released a poorly received album and performed at the Super Bowl halftime show. His involvement can’t be ruled out.
