There’s fanon going around that the reason Sonic was hunted down to begin with and why Tails is there looking for him is because Sonic himself IS a Chaos Emerald.

You could teleport to the special zone in Sonic 1 through rings at the end of the level, so that was kind of consistent with the games.

OP is making a joke about the Olive Garden jokes that were shoved into the Sonic movie, as well as a few other weird bits of product placement. It was weirdly placed in the movie.

It was a fun kids movie, with a character that never really had any lore to mess up.  Or at least no lore that anyone ever cared about.  All it needed was Sonic going fast and a Dr Robotnik to fight.  Honestly, I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would.  I’d say it was probably on par or slightly better than Shazam…

I thought for sure that the costly sfx overhaul would be wasted on internet whiners who’d fail to show up to theaters anyway, and damn if I wasn’t wrong. The movie wasn’t my cup of tea, but I’m happy for the makers and their fans that it didn’t all blow up in their face.

Neat. Outside of a couple of stupid/poorly done fart/poop jokes (which I’m not against as a whole, they just need to be more clever than “Ha, fart noise!”) this was easily one of the better video game films that Hollywood managed to churn out.

I don’t care if FF7 is multiple parts. This just means more FF7 and the next parts on better hardware. To me, it’s just a win-win. 

The dig at FFVII is really unnecessary. I wouldn’t call the more in-depth storytelling “Filler” or “Padding”
