bummer about the quality. I really liked reading the Hobbit. It was one of the first long books that I ever read. Oh well.

Waiting for the one movie fan-edit

I finished The Bone Clocks and had a blast. I love time and the use of fantasy to examine the human condition. Good fun and it's one of those books that I will stay up to 3 am reading.

I revised a short story that I'll be submitting to a local contest and I feel pretty good about it.

The Cure - Just Like Heaven (acoustic)
Kickball - Tides or Swells
Tom Waits - Train Song
Modest Mouse - Lounge (Closing Time)

Finished Super Mario Bros 3 and started The Legend of Zelda for the NES.

I'm going to try and beat Super Mario Bros 3. I'm currently stuck at the beginning stages of World 8 and I'm having that issue where I'm replaying the levels so much that I'm getting fatigued and making simple mistakes.

yup yup yup

Watched Inland Empires on friday night. I felt absolutely exhausted afterward. Reading various interpretations of the film was fun.

No problemo, Ice Cream Planet!

I liked it. The writing was absolutely beautiful and I love a nice pastoral every once in a while. It evoked genuine emotion and resonated with me in strange way considering the vastly different time period. I guess having bittersweet memories of growing up has been and always will be a real part of adulthood.

Recently finished Willa Cather's My Antonia and I'm currently reading David Mitchell's The Bone Clocks

I seriously need to do some international traveling. I'm in a financial lull at the moment and I've toyed with the idea of selling some things off and just going, but realistically I'll probably just save up in a year or so in order to go.

Hell Yes to "Every Single Night" and "Another Sunny Day" Both have been stuck in my head all week.

Charles Mingus - Mode E,D,F….

Celebrated Halloween with some White Russians. Later that night, at some random bar, I had to finish a friend's strange, incredibly strong and sweet, mystery concoction. It was the color blue and tasted like a pixie stick.

Went to go see Birdman and was not disappointed. The camera work was fun, and Michael Keaton was fantastic. I'm excited to see what he'll do next. Rented Zombi 2 and The Bird with the Crystal Plumage from a local video shop. Both were great and very different. I've been on an Argento kick ever since I saw Suspiria.

Truly umlautable
