The same bill was introduced last year when Republicans held more seats and also held both chambers. It never made it out of committee. Even if it did pass the House, it wouldn’t pass in the Senate. The Senate is less ideological and there are definitely 3 Republican Senators who would not vote for it.

The process for a bill to become law is very different from voting for president.

Count the number of sane republicans in the Senate. If it is more than 3, take a wild guess.
