I also always saw the Night King as a natural disaster and I’m perfectly fine that we never got to see him in a fireside-scence where he gets to monologue about his motivations.

But since I saw him as a natural disaster, I’m extremly disappointed if this is really the end of him. Which it most probably is. I take back

[...] and somehow managed to leap into the godswood [...]

I agree that the zombies are pretty boring, but will probably make it to King’s Landing at some point. So either Winterfell will fall, and the next episodes are about the survivors escaping and regrouping for the final stand (which, yeah, boring), or Winterfell will be successfully defended, but the victory is not as

How I would feel about people dying next episode:

Sad, but resigned: Beric, Jorah, Jaime, Theon, Bran

Honestly pretty surprised: Jon, Dany, Tyrion, Sansa, Arya, Sam, Gendry, Varys, the Hound,

Not suprised, but devastated: Brienne, Tormund, Pod, Greyworm, Missandei, Gilly, Davos

But the problem with the Martha ending is not just the plot convenience, but also that the emotional beat is so preposterous and out of nowhere. If the emotional beats in Endgame feel earned (as this review gives the impression they will), I don’t see the hypocrisy.

Going back to work full-time after a baby can be quite hard, because your employability/perceived value on the job market can take a real hit after staying home for a while (which, for the record, I think is deeply unfair, but I’m not an employer, so who cares what I think). Your qualifications might be seen as

Nah, the Targs used to rule Westeros before they were defeated by the Baratheons, just as the Starks used to rule the North before they were defeated by the Boltons. Dany wants a Targ restoration in Westeros, just like Sansa wanted a Stark restoration in the North - there’s no indication that Dany wants world

If the humans do win that battle for Winterfell next episode, I don’t think it will mean they’ve won the war for dawn. Maybe all the wights are burnt, but the Night King escapes on his dragon. Or the humans manage to pull off that “kill the Night-King-all-Zombies-drop-dead” stunt, but it turns out the White

Well, people might have tried and given up quickly - Bran hasn’t been exactly itching to tell his story, acting all weird and aloof. We’ve seen him briskly brush off his siblings’ attempt to reconnect. He’s presumably strictly strategical about the information he shares, so the question is, what’s the strategy behind

Good point; that was mere conjecture. I do think the assumption is not entirely baseless though - Jon’s clearly queasy about _something_ and I don’t think it’s a potential quarry with Dany about succession; I just don’t see him pressing his claim, Sam’s encouragement non-withstanding. And just because incest is a fine

I think there’s a good chance that Bran dies next episode.. 1) That plan working out as predicted would shock me more than Cersei surviving the last episode. 2) I believe the Night King wouldn’t move on to King’s Landing without having dealt with the Bran situation first, and I’ll eat my hat if the zombies don’t make

Someone I certainly _don’t_ think will die next episode is the Night King. (Or, if he dies after all, expect him to be replaced by one of his generals immediately, because he just isn’t that strategically important. People seem to assume he was the one who created all the others, so if you kill him, it’s game

Oh, I think Bran’s going to die. (Or at least fake his death convincingly enough that we’ll believe he’s dead by the end of next episode).

The tunnels may not be super plausible, but I find them rather more plausible than all the humans in Winterfell who can’t ride dragons dying next episode, slightly more plausible

Unless they can escape through the tunnels leading out of the crypts. In the books there are quite a few legends about caves in the Norths, and Wildlings using them to evade the Nightwatch. I guess they can also be used to evade zombies. Worked for the Children of the forest, for a while at least.

I don’t know if the show has mentionned it, but in the books there’s a lot of forshadowing that the crypts might indeed have more than one entrance. It’s presumably how one of the Wildling Kings beyond the Wall managed to kidnap the daughter of the Lord of Winterfell once. Pretty sure there’s going to be a secret

Maybe third time’s the charm!

Eh, she’s pretty easily convinced by Sansa to pardon Jaime. Dany hasn’t done a lot to endear herself to the common viewer lately, but the accusation that she’s holding too much of grudge is really unfair here. Yeah, Aerys had it coming and Jaime’s murdering of him (to save the entire population of King’s Landing) is

Oh, it’s clear to us, having watched Jon over years. But why should it be so clear to Dany? They don’t know each other that well. And he has been acting pretty cold towards her lately.

Of course we know it’s because he’s feeling queasy about the incest, but that is a thought that might never cross Dany’s mind.

I don’t think Tyrion will be king, but I really hope you’re right about Davos. He’s the most grounded character among the politicans with the best understanding of the needs of the smallfolk and I need him to have some sort of role in whatever administration is going to be set up by the end of this for the ending to

but they seem to be regretting that decision quite a bit recently...
