You’re 100% right. I hear people talk about how biased the documentary is - which it isn’t hugely - and no-one ever mentions that the prosecution were contacted and declined to participate. Sorry, you don’t get to complain that your side isn’t being heard. That was directly addressed to Ken Kratz. You fuckin’ asshole.

It’s not that biased. It’s from the defense and family’s perspective, but they asked the prosecution if they wanted to be in it repeatedly and they said no. The trial was about 6-7 weeks so they had to cut down all that footage to 10 hours. Obviously not everything is going to be shown. The point was never to paint

All you need to know is that this man spent 18 years in jail after being falsely accused of rape. Someone on the police force screwed up. So, how is it that far fetched that they screwed up again? ESPECIALLY since he was suing the police for millions, not the government, but the very police who put him jail, they

Those people from Northwestern University are still working on his case. I believe it’s still being (or yet to be) considered by the federal court in Milwaukee.

It reminds me of the WM3. Whether or not they’re guilty, the investigation and trial were atrocious.

I think, but i’m not entirely sure, and am not looking it up right now that Brendan is already part of the Innocent Project. His case is an outright disaster and there’s no way he should be in jail, period, let alone not have been declared a mistrial. But from what i gathered at the end of the documentary—Brendan did

I want Brendan to get a new legal team - his case breaks my heart

I just couldn’t w/ the treatment of that child. It was despicable.

It’s interesting to watch- not for deciding if Avery was guilty or innocent, but to witness someone not receiving a fair trial, the amount of corruption in small-town sheriffs departments, and how the system is build to chew up the poor and uneducated. All of these issues are present regardless of Avery’s guilt.

Amen. If anyone needs new representation, it’s Brendan.

I'll just tell you, a lady goes missing and immediately everyone blames this Avery guy. He was considered guilty right away. The detectives, the police, the DA didn't even CONSIDER any other suspects. Didn't pursue any leads. They pinned this on Avery from the start. It's infuriating, so worth the watch.

I agree. Especially since there’s even more widely available information about false confessions now than there was when he was convicted.

What about Brendan? I think he got the shittiest end of the stick and should also be getting some free legal counsel.

You should watch it. What those people did is disgusting. Especially to Brendan Dassey. His lawyer was just ....UGH! Be prepared for a good range of infuriated emotions!

“Why does everything you wear look like it’s bearing a grudge? You’ve got a wardrobe full of little murderers.”

“Take it away, and bring me another lover...”

The beauty of the google. I just learned that Patsy’s full name is Eurydice Colette Clytemnestra Dido Bathsheba Rabelais Patricia Cocteau Stone

The cast of Absolutely Fabulous was banned from drinking after the partying got “out of control.”

A man’s man. A real man. A guy’s guy.

Just what I was going to say - Holly tried to update but Hugh was not having it. (I watched too and feel no shame - sort of) I remember thinking that parts of the place must reak of old cologne, smegma and booze. It just seemed icky and sticky, like Hugh must feel. Still, I am sure there is some tool out there that
