So the hero car of the original F&F should have been a 300ZX?!??!?

This list is a fail since they said they patrol and there isn’t a SINGLE subaru on this list. for shame.

BINGO. This is from the era when ASC did the work before the General took it all in-house. As an ASC modified car owner, the line about “the top needs two parts replaced” and then never specifies gives me the creeps.

ASC was busy back in the day; they were chopping the top on all Nissan and Infiniti models too.

This is an ASC-Built convertible, with a bad rear window and at least one other item related to the top needing replacement. ASC is functionally out of business at this point, and they are less than helpful if you need information on past products. Getting any info from them on the S13 240SX Convertible from this era

It must be; I don’t think any of them ever rolled off the line as convertibles. At least not in the 3rd gen.

This makes me happy. Long live the Geländewagen!

Why’d you bring the bust here?

But she could do better than Hard 8. And she’s in Austin so she has Franklin’s and Salt Lick to beat our local spots (local favs for me are North Main and Pecan Lodge). Just go to Babes and have slightly better than average fried chicken but all the sides you can eat.

Let’s also remember it was the engine, in the car, that launched Because Racecar.

My ‘90 wrangler was incapable of anything resembling that video. Would’ve fallen apart.

Either you are lying or you are the world’s shittiest driver.

I know from owning one that this statement reflects badly on your abilities, not the Wrangler.

There are simply not enough stars for this.

It honestly doesn’t matter. No one who buys one will care even a little. G-mode and the locking diffs will be used exclusively by journalists and “experience events” put on by dealers and MB. It a few years if its still worth buying 3rd owners might enjoy the locking diffs but do you really want to own a 3rd owner

I first read the headline and thought, awesome they kept the solid axles. Then I got to “...independent suspension with double-wishbone front axle ... “ and felt like G Wagon died.

Exactly.

It doesn’t matter. I doubt even if it was sold as 2wd open diff G buyers wouldn’t even notice. As long as they are able to pose as a rugged G driver in the mall parking lot these will sell like hotcakes. About 99% of these will never ever leave pavement.

More importantly is there going to be a cheaper poverty spec professional model in the US like they have in other countries? Priced similar to a Land Cruiser?

The Renegade’s system is a nice gesture but it falls short of being really useful in real life. That little Tigershark just doesn’t have the power at torque converter stall speeds to move a lump that size. If you applied the Subaru 1.59 low range to the XV’s manual you would get something close to 25:1, which is just
