Yes, exactly. The child’s biological sex is most likely one of the standard two. That is different from gender, and the sex is what goes on the birth certificate. Acting like it doesn’t exist or can be wished away is silly and possibly harmful to the mental health of the child.

You know the best way to not force gender roles, expectations and stereotypes on a kid?? By simply not doing it. It’s that simple. This whole thing feels like a self-indulgent attention grab on the part of the parent. What are they really accomplishing? Not a whole lot.
