I haven’t watched their Netflix show, but I have followed them on Instagram for the last year or two. The women, and their families (oh my god, their kids are hilarious), are funny, thoughtful, and fun. I really enjoy tapping through their Instagram stories.

The Town is as much as a romance as Rocky is, change my mind.

Hopefully, if this venture is successful, it’ll convince Melania to do the deepdive political science and policy podcast we’ve all been wishing for.

Yeah I don't know why there's so much admiration for her. Her fans don't really consider how she got her wealth and power in the first place. Like...revolting against that monarchy is how we got founded in the first place.

Fuck the queen. Seriously, I get that she’s lasted long enough to become an institution but she’s a leech on a country that can’t afford it (and don’t give me that “they bring in money!” Buckingham palace would bring in MORE tourist money if you could actually tour the place because it wasn’t in use by the queen and a

Ah yes, celiac.  The white privileged disease shared with every race on the planet.

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for such a great blog. It has improved my cooking a lot, and introduced me to a bunch of easily accessible (and some not so easily accessible!) recipes that have made my life better. It’s also just such a lovely oasis in a sea of internet grossness. I always leave happier than

Imagine having the freedom to make a comfortable living writing and reporting upon literally anything you want and deciding what you want to write and report on is that society is too mean to people who were complicit in the serial sexual abuse of minors. Because that is literally Malcolm Gladwell’s situation.

I’d argue the people running them know very well that they are pyramid schemes.
They just see others running the same schemes making out with billions in personal wealth - see WeWork’s founder, for example - and wanting the same.

Thank you for not “sticking to cars” (though this is car-adjacent) - this is important stuff that needs to be said.

I’m just spitballing here...but.....stay with me.....what if Uber is really just the worlds greatest money laundering scheme?

For preparing everything. I watch cooking videos online and there is one brand that always uses too small bowls. It gets my goat.

Corollary to this: Always use a bigger bowl than you think you need when preparing a salad.

when i was a kiddo, i got a wee cooking set for christmas one year. it contained a tiny whisk, bc everything was tiny, and damned if my mom didn’t totally steal that thing from me and use it as her own in just the ways you described. she still has it to this day and will probably never relinquish it.

I believe it was Barry who called them “big business brains.”

We may not all be as eloquent as Will at the end there, but I think it’s safe to say we all feel the same way.

An interview with the novice reporter who ran the unfortunate spellcheck...

This is terrible, Tom. And hurtful. Every year, dozens of beatific young women die of Ali McGraw’s Disease and despite decades of research we are still no closer to a cure. And pieces like this that downplay the very real effects -- husbands feeling bad, husbands moping, husbands seeing a decline in their racquetball

I tried this dish last night. Doubled the recipe and it came out great.
