I’m pretty sure that wasn’t the monster’s personality and just how Jack remembered his mother.

I think what would’ve been more effective is some history on jack and why seeing his mother was the worst for him. Maybe have him relive past trauma psychically and manifest as physical wounds or him hallucinating while self inflicting injuries would’ve been more effective
Right? I saw a commercial for this show earlier and saw a face for a split-second that looked really familiar, but I couldn’t place. I clicked on this review to find out who it was - and looking at the cast list it struck me! F. Murray Abraham! And also the girl from “Hey Ash, whatcha playing?”
For sure! My original comment wasn’t an indictment on the tastes of the writers, I appreciate recommendations that challenge me to flex my taste in music. Some people seemed to have taken my comment AS IF it was an indictment though, when I was just figuratively scratching my head over how I’m late to the party on 90%…
Okay, flapper.
this is the worst comment
I stopped listening to contemporary music after Scott Joplin sold out the Ragtime Movement with his composition “Maple Leaf Rag”.
I’m pumped for the new Tennis Guided By Voices, Tame Impala, and Soccer Mommy albums. Lots of good music out this month
Yeah, the Peach Pit is where the kids on 90210 used to hang out so two very, very different things...
Aaaaaaand you can’t read the preview because the page images are tiny.
What did you expect? It’s Stephen King.
It’s literally a story about a version of the bogeyman so, if that’s not your thing...
It’s real to me, damnit!
I haven’t read the book. I was pretty baffled by the prison scenes, but confident they would start to make sense and content to wait for them to do so. And it was pretty satisfying when it came together at the end--I assume the prisoner that killed himself was in the same situation as Terry, and wasn’t lucky enough to…
Haha, fuckin’ hell. It’s a fun show. It’s not art. It’s not trying to say anything about society. And that’s fine. It’s also not half as problematic or exploitative as the myriad other reality shows on the air right now. It’s just soothing, solidly edited shit to watch when the world’s on fire, and there’s nothing…
It would have to be sponsored to label it as such. Some folks just... like things that you don’t like. :-)
You’re absolutely right: Scrolling past a subject you have zero interest in and engaging in something that won’t get you worked up IS always an available option. :-)
You’re never going to get enough likes to stay on The Kinja!
There comes a point where you just have to accept what a show is and not what you wish you personally wish it would be. That point came and went about three years ago. This show loves its fantasy religious elements. Always has. Aslaug was introduced in a way right out of a story book. This show has always been written…
What is worth 60 dollars?
