It is. Remember, Bubastis was a genetically engineered lynx, plus the psychic squid which he said was grown in a lab. Toying with DNA instead of robotics is more Adrian’s particular choice.

I like the way it both calls back to the time period that fundamentally changed this society, and harkens back to a near future where tech could over power those who’ve spent so much time fearing it.
Respectfully going to have to disagree. Beginning a series with an over looked massacre, examining how reparations would impact the culture, and casting a 48 year old Black woman as your super hero lead is bold.
A zombie with vitalophilia?
To be fair, it’s more about the dead guy wanting to fuck a woman, she doesn’t really reciprocate until (spoilers) the power of love brings him back from the dead.
Imagine if there was an actual audio recording out there of Trump joking about sexually assaulting women! That would bring down Trump for sure! There wouldn’t even need to be an investigation! Someone look for that tape, there must be at least one out there!
But does an item of African-American vernacular truly exist until it’s been appropriated by white people, redefined, and then hammered into such overuse that it can no longer be used with 100% sincerity?
If your jokes aren’t landing, perhaps you should consider writing better ones, as opposed to blaming it on “woke” culture.
Maybe he's going for the "average viewer who hasn't read the comic" take.
If you were hoping for escapism, you are tuned into the wrong franchise.
Watchmen was always hyper-political. The book was released in the late ‘80s, and its subtext was harsh criticism of Margaret Thatcher, Reagan, authoritarianism and western (particularly American) imperialism. Even DC’s subsequent follow ups, which are more straight forward super heroic tales, have addressed politics,…
I’m not saying Moore should have, just noting that he didn’t. He made references throughout the novel that showed he recognized bigotry as a component of what he was criticizing. But, as a UK citizen and self-described anarchist, its not surprising that Moore would use American superheroes to primarily explore class,…
It feels like the cops with actual aliases are Crimebusters-style vigilantes that are only ever brought on when the need arises, with the exception of Looking Glass. After the one cop got shot, Don Johnson questioned whether to bring in Red Scare, and Abar obviously isn’t going on patrol or anything, she only comes in…
Man children gonna man child.
it must truly be difficult to live with an ant colony in your skull, my condolences
At least one producer is Black and two of the writers out of six on staff are Black. The pilot was directed by a woman. There’s a lot of diversity behind the scenes.
I personally knew a lot of racists growing up who listened to rap. It’s a bizarre conundrum.
That was absolutely fantastic, looking forward to the rest of the season! Regina King was wonderful and Jeremy Irons as Adrian Veidt is going to be amazing.
Dogma is great when you see it at the age of 18 and come from a roman catholic background. After you turn 19, it falls off of a cliff. Except for Buddy Christ.
Except the community wanted to return the moon and not the other areas you listed. Dumbest comment goes to you.
