Haha, I just moved house and went through my old comics - the first 30 something issues of Spider-Man 2099 and 30 something of X-Men 2099 are in there somewhere.

Spider-Man 2099 was great. X-Men 2099 was OK. I hear Doom 2099 was actually good? Can’t say.

*chuckles at post*
That’s actually hilarious

I really hated Brick, but that was mostly because it was stupid for modern middle class suburban highschoolers to be imitating noir characters.

Yeah - I think Remedy would get a better deal out of MS but I think they value their independence overall. I think some of the developers which have decided to partner are ones who feel they could realise their visions better with a whole lot of $$ backing them.

Oh come on, Microsoft are nowhere as near as overbearing that a company would name a game Control just to spite them. Remedy weren’t even first party, they just had a good working relationship with Xbox (who helped publish Alan Wake in the first place), so the idea they were under the thumb in any sense doesn’t float

I don’t believe there’s much distinction between the two platforms in terms of audiences for narrative driven adventure games, not like say how Playstation has a bigger audience for Japanese RPGs.

Both games are on PC by the way - Alan Wake was just free on Epic store, actually.

Yeah, for a couple of years now.

Oh, general game talk: Knights and Bikes is out now! It’s a cute 80's/Goonies inspired roaming adventure game in the mold of 16-bit classics but done in a hand-painted style of Tearaway - not a coincidence, since the two main devs that make up the team (Foam Sword) came from Media Molecule. It made a bit of a splash

If Microsoft were truly smart, they’d snap Remedy up yesterday.

Please, don’t talk up their video games by any means

It’s something they do with cheese curds in Montreal, I hear

The best kind of nuts.

Oh, I should look into what they’re about then!

Absolutely, and you can buy the figure for 19.99

So in the post-original trilogy books (which aren’t canon now, apparently?) didn’t Emperor Palpatine clone himself and want to take over the body of Luke Jr. or Han Jr. or some junk? It’s firmly in canon that Palpatine’s master Darth Plagueis was apparently looking to unlock the secret of immortality, and you’ve got

Actually I’d say Insomniac actually does. Out of the aforementioned none of them really dabble in modern adventure/platformer games like Ratchet & Clank / Spyro / etc or grand sprawling open world games (save for Bend I think, but Days Gone was just OK, not a huge success really). But you’re correct in that there is
