I, among many others, have had this exact situation happen to our PS3s, with Sony Consumer Services giving a big "f you" by trying to charge $150 to fix their error and blaming the consumer or acts of god for the problem. This exact problem happened to my PS3 last week or so after I updated to 3.1 and I tried all that crap Sony said, and it stills is bricked. I'm with the plantiff. Having to pay $150 for something that is most likely their fault is bullshit.
