MAD TV nailed it when Dreamgirls happened.
MAD TV nailed it when Dreamgirls happened.
The takeaway line from this review, and the specific thing that makes any biopic a waste of time: “Part of the problem lies with Respect’s obsequious tone, with how the movie treats Franklin so regally that she feels more like an icon than a person.”
So here’s to employing heroin addicts and not being able to fire them when said addiction impedes work!
Not surprising in the least, since he didn’t actually mean it in the first place and issuing it didn’t have any positive impact in crisis mitigation for his flailing career.
Ah, the T.J. Miller defense.
But, would a culturally relevant show today even generate the same interest? I don’t recall newspaper front pages about who ended up on the Iron Throne, for instance, and the series finale had a higher viewership than The Simpsons did back in seasons 6 and 7. There’s just far more content nowadays and so even…
Yes. Yes yes yes.
It’s already been said, but Kylie deserved the win over Ginger.
I don’t understand the clamoring for the host to be someone with fame outside of a future Jeopardy host gig. Alex Trebek was a professional game show host before he got the gig, not someone with an acting or news presenting background. To my mind, Mike Richards or Ken Jennings or Buzzy Cohen are the only ones who made…
How are people who “grew up on the ‘Mummy’ series” now in the 18-35 demo?
I’m sure he’s very embarrassed and very angry.
I’m thrilled to see less successful queens from seasons past again, that’s all well and good, but is it All Stars?
Yeah, but that’s also part of the problem - even with two-time All Stars, the producers have to go DEEP to fill out these seasons. And while Ra’Jah, for instance, has turned it this season, nothing from her original run indicated she should make an All Stars season. Doubly so for Serena ChaCha.
Agreed. On this season, the slam-dunk proper All Stars are Ginger, Eureka, A’keria, Silky, Yara, and Pandora. Nobody else did well enough in their original run to automatically warrant an All Stars season, but if you accept that it’s an annual thing and a lot of runner-ups aren’t interested, Trinity and Jiggly and…
Given how much larger this cast is than the usual All Stars season, I just can’t imagine that’s the reason. But it’s really something. She’s managed to be both loud and forgettable at the same time.
I dunno, is it really that clear a top 5 plus Pandora? I think it’s a pretty clear top 4 plus Pandora and Eureka. The ‘scorecard’ might show Eureka with a marginally better performance on the season, but they are both winless and I remember Pandora’s highlights slightly more than Eureka’s.
Which was resolved. Clearly, Disney is trying to fuck over people with pre-existing contracts and they have to resort to legal action to get their due.
I’m always glad to see Asian actresses stand up for themselves.
They would still have to honor the contract signed by the company they acquired. That’s part of what they bought in the deal.
I know you meant mini golf, but now I want to see an entertainment restaurant place with mini gold as the tickets or tokens or something.
