Given the Lindelof factor, I thought it would be the 1800s doomsday cult woman until she turned around. But the eyes are all Nora and gave it away to me immediately.

It looked like a website: possibly a news site or otherwise mocked up to look like a traditional front page of a newspaper. A pure guess as we only get a quick glance and it is blurred on pause. He was definitely hiding it from Kevin though.
I'm enjoying it. It was the perfect rewatch choice while waiting for both The Leftovers and Twin Peaks.
I would watch many seasons of Elijah on Broadway. They could call it Elijah Minnelli.
I was amused that the episode contained the core elements of LOLWTFBBQ.
When Kevin/Justin breathed in and not out that last time, I swear I physically felt that in my gut.
Sure, that works too. I'm more amused by the fact that they are Redshirts and all that implies in genre fiction.
Don't tell him that. He seems touchy about it.
I thought he was testing if Kevin had been taken over by a dog? And/or if he could root out the dogpersonators (dogglegangers?) in general, since maybe they'd involuntarily react to the sound.
He had to destroy the evidence for his transformed brethren.
I'm rewatching that right now. It pairs well with The Leftovers, theme-wise.
I agree with anonyfool: saw this as an extreme but logical extension of the "no fucks given" approach the feds had toward the GR in season one, and the more personal example that happened when Kevin tried to turn himself in with Patty's body and the officer was basically "suicide? sure thing, sounds good".
I interpreted it as that he knows he either can't die (and/or will resurrect shortly after anyway) so he has no fear to jump in and have a closer look. Once there, he realized there was nothing obviously toxic in the barrels.
People have been commenting she has looked gaunt this season, and tonight was the first time I really noticed it. I was actually a bit relieved at her tummy muscles, due to all the eating disorder concern.
I think maybe they've traded the GR for the new Redshirt Cult that "poisoned" the miracle spring.
Did the promo shot above happen in this episode? I don't remember diner pouting.
According to Wikipedia and Netflix there are 13 eps, which makes Anatomy of a Murder the penultimate ep. I can't find the full name of Chapter 13 but it seems to start with "The S…". (Netflix won't let me click on the link yet) and I suppose the name is still subject to change.
It's probably just a reflection of the way I prefer to watch things nowadays. I like binging and so the weekly appointment is sort of a slog for me anyway - especially right now since there is so much on, and so much starting soon. I am drowning in good TV.
Trolling or "Leaning In"?
Up the trellis to Betty's room?
