Or all this ends up as the re-telling of one of Harris' Sookie Stackhouse novels in the far, far, future. Read to us by future earth beings who can't read the primitive language very well, and so have been embellishing a great deal.

In my heart, she is forever Shelly Johnson from Twin Peaks.

I hope not, a kill-em-all could be kind of fun. And might harken back to the days when I thought the show was trying to be shitty on purpose, and was still having a lot of fun with it.

Surprisingly, I'm enjoying this dumb show so far. It's like a CW show for adults.

If he survives the season. I'm now thinking this season is a going to be a bloodbath of major characters dying.

Good call on the autism spectrum. I would love to have the ability to jump back in time in this show's universe and see Daniel as a teen and how he was with Hanna pre-murder. Flashbacks isn't quite what I'm talking about, but realistically that's the only way I'd get my wish.

And Daniel, as likable as he is in many respects (and certainly sad), has been acting out like an adolescent

Yeah, I agree we are close in opinion, just basically disagree on whether or not the assault was "sexual", and whether Daniel's intent matters in defining that. And I agree whatever we think happened (or not), the legality of what happened is a whole other ballgame. But if I had a client who had this happen to them,

I don't think it was sexual in the sense that Daniel got/wanted sexual gratification from that, but I think the sexual element was intended for Teddy - that's my read, anyway. I also read it as a prison-culture response playing out in a non-prison context.

This show hasn't exactly been overflowing with comments this season at all, but the US holiday also has to factor in this week. The site has seemed ghost-townish for the past few days.

The pun was groan-worthy but I found it very much in character. He's such a weird guy. More than once I've found myself wondering how weird he was beforehand, and how weird prison made him.

I'm consistently impressed with the chemistry between each major character and pretty much everyone they interact with. Each combination of players pretty much fires on all cylinders.

The Daniel-Teddy scene was pretty much perfect and everything that it should have been. So much emotion and awkwardness in a handful of lines and both having a hard time looking at each other.

Animation would be a great way to go. I wonder if they've seriously considered that. Probably not.

ty!

Even calling Oz doggish is pretty generous. Worst werewolf ever. I liked him as a character, but it was probably the least thought that went into any monster on that show - and if they actually did put thought into that, that makes it worse somehow.

Just out of curiosity, where else can I find a Grand Guignol (or related themes) on tv these days? I've only seen it here.

For me, having Mina nearby worked since her "master" is actually after Vanessa and in retrospect it was intended to be a trap. So it made at least some sense that she'd be reaching out telepathically just to get their attention, be nearby as bait, and leave a sufficient trail of breadcrumbs to be found.

Now I'm hankering for a rewatch marathon of Home Movies at some point soon.

I guess I'm too cynical to care that much about it, since I don't think the execution will live up to the potential anyway. Plus, I think King already ruined Dark Tower after Wizard and Glass, with the tangents and the joining the Kingverse together and the cameo he gave himself, so it's not like the adaptation will
