Great to finally see a review of this season here. It's been getting better each season for sure, and if AVC ever gets around to weekly episode reviews, I think the show would probably have a decent following.

For sure, the anxiety and empathy for the awkward character/situation is half the fun and half the torture. There are several episodes of Louie I temporarily turned off because of the awkwardness, but knew it would be worth it to continue as it is such a great show. So I'd then go back to it when I was a bit more…
No, no, not what I meant either! Just meant I was personally somewhere in between on whether the tortuousness of intentional awkwardness is a dealbreaker or not, basically. But of course, it depends on the show and the execution, and also my mood at the time. If it is done well I can get lost in it and really enjoy…
There's also the unintentional cringe, when the show is actually trying to be genuinely funny, and what's awkward is that it's failing.
I really love Pacific Rim as I think it delivered exactly what it promised, and it had a live-action cartoon aesthetic that was a lot of fun. But even reading that movie as intentionally OTT and emotionally overwrought, Hunnam was a mind-bogglingly bad choice. I'm not fan of SoA, but even the little I've seen of that…
Torn about the comments re: The Office (UK) and the awkward/cringe comedy. I agree it is definitely hard to watch at times, but I also things that is exactly what makes it so effective. I think the more you cringe and reach for the remote, the more well done it is. Well-conveyed awkwardness is a sign of good writing…
I just googled this and if it is the same interview (EW), she is definitely parsing her words carefully: When asked if she knew she would die in the premiere, the answer is "I found out over the hiatus about the end of my journey on the show."
Thanks. Before the finale I was thinking the eggs were okay too, but I was a bit confused by this episode as to why they were harvesting Sarah's eggs, but I guess Rachel and Dyad have proved to be unnecessarily invasive so maybe they just wanted to study them.
Thanks! I missed Helena's pregnancy completely, I guess. I kind of like the idea of Helena also having twins. But I like Action Helena so I hope she can still fight while carrying babies.
I liked that, personally. I think it rung true to real life where there is a lot of panic and instinct and adrenaline at Point A, and then sometime at Point X your mind finally catches up to everything that's happened, but it kind of seems like you went from A to X in a flash.
Oh agreed. I have loved Maslany's acting and the portrayal of each character she's done (even Tony, because I think she did a good job despite the bad idea). But I didn't root for Helena until relatively recently. And today, can't see myself getting to place where I'm rooting for Rachel. But never say never with this…
I am not 100 percent sold on Marion being good. Maybe it's prejudice from many wonderful past roles where Forbes has played many very likeable characters who later (and fully) fuck everyone over. Plus, why does she have a Castor in a box? He might actually not turn out to be a prisoner, but I think the jury is…
Intellectually I'd agree, but my reaction was almost a reflexive response. So it basically taught me that on some base level I still think Helena is too unpredictable to be trusted.
That's a really good point as a few of them have done terrible things. And yeah, I really did not like the character of Helena at this point last year, so we'll see.
To clarify, that's basically what I was saying above about Sarah being pregnant before Keira/Cal and that negating the Cal theory.
Yeah I remember all the fake IDs and such, I just couldn't remember what his military link was, as I think they only mentioned it once or twice, and haven't really done too much with it, so far.

Great acting by Maslany, and I love the characterization of Rachel overall. But I don't think I can get to a place where I feel as fondly about her as any of the others so I'd don't think she'll ever be a personal favourite. Granted, I once felt that way about Helena, so who knows. But wasting that bone marrow and…
Yes, that and the "Dr Moreau" full of cipher code and other secrets.
The cylinder was Helena's eggs, preserved in the nitrogen (I think).
