It's kind of mind-boggling how terrible disqus is. Sadder still is that the AV Club brass seem either indifferent or resigned to it, or otherwise unwilling to publicly agree about how shitty it is. Even worse, disqus is all over the web now, and it seems there is no escaping it.

I think with nuDisqus, it is now unreasonable to expect people to read all the comments, especially with the very popular shows. It's really not uncommon to see several similar conversations in one comments section now.

I agree. Don broke the off-script rule, but it doesn't matter because if
they fire him the firm loses the account. Don's trying to make himself
necessary enough to the success of the firm that the broken rules will
be ignored or dropped altogether.

I sort of read the character as a remake of Tom Cruise's character in the Last Samurai, if you ever saw that - except that instead of going to Japan, he goes monster hunting instead.

When Frankenstein said "Can you hear?" - and the monster realizes yes, he can - that small gasp and and incredulous smile was pretty much magical. I was pretty much on board already, but that scene clinched it for me.

I am the same concerns for sure, but Hannibal does push the boundaries (in terms of the graphic, anyway). It makes me hopeful that Constantine will not be bowdlerized too much. Although they can probably get away with more violence than they could swearing or sexuality.

But if anyone is capable of doing so, it is Kevin Williamson.

He'll land on his feet soon enough with other projects. Even if the show doesn't get a UK deal, he's basically proven he's reliable on set again.

I had forgotten all about that. I was too disgruntled at the show to appreciate it at the time though.

I think part of it was just getting used to AHS as a show, for me. It felt like Murder House dropped everything and wrapped it up in weird way that was both too neat and also resolved nothing.

Oh okay - I caught the quote but thought your opinion was behind it too. And now I want a Spaced re-watch.

I didn't really care for Murder House myself, but I know a lot of people like it. I liked parts of it, but felt the ending was a huge letdown that sort of soured me on the entire season.

I do kind of like the first one, even though I wouldn't argue it is particularly good - it's bloated and way too long. But I don't think it is shittier than most blockbusters out there.

Maybe AHS will be "cursed" like the Star Trek movies from the original cast: odd numbers "just okay" to "bad", even numbers "good" to "great"

I love Carnivale and Knauf, but the Dracula was really disappointing. I'm still sort of pulling for it though as it was pretty to look at and could maybe improve in a second season.

I'm really excited for Hell Circus too. And Rabe definitely deserves her own show, although "The Visitors" (just looked that up) kind of sounds like another attempt to reboot V.

I didn't know Lily Rabe was leaving. I know that Lange was planning on half-timing it for this upcoming season, then leaving too.

NOT GREAT, BOB!

Does this mean we get the returns of Bob Benson on Mad Men and Dylan McManass on AHS?

I follow Con news here/there, but haven't been to one in years and years. I literally just learned about SPN cons this year - accidentally while I was surfing around trying to confirm something about one of their filming locations that looked familiar.
