Given what a knockout she was in mid-century garb, it's too bad she's too late for a Mad Men arc. She could have played Joan's sister or something.

That would be interesting, but I guess warning him about the boat has consequences just as bringing him to the future does, so either way there's a ripple.

No hate from me. I've quit SPN before and come back, so I get when things aren't resonating. I quit early in S2 and then caught up in S5 a few weeks before that finale. And since S6 I don't sweat it too much if I miss an episode here/there or I miss a few plot-points due to multi-tasking while watching.

Yeah, I actually thought that was implied about Metatron - didn't somebody hint to Ezra that he was a stooge?

*take down to save, I meant (or take down as a last resort if they can't save). But I actually don't care if Dean (or Sam) dies in the end, as long as the story is worth it.

I remember there was a lot of fan backlash against him in Dollhouse too, not that I agree with that. I had mixed feelings about that show in general, but thought he was fine in it.

If nothing else, it would shake up the show. Crowley Cas & Sam teaming up to take down Dean would be worth watching.

You can have both, you can't wipe your face with a barf bag that well.

Except in that iteration of the story Dean refused and they never went against each other, just the normal brother fighting that happens on this show, except in the fast forward. And to clarify, I'm not particularly defending that possibility:

Do you need a tissue?

I agree not everything has been so good, but overall I like this best since S5, outstanding episodes here/there in 6-8 aside.

Plus, Bobby ended up in hell anyway and needed to be rescued, right? so it may not have changed things that much.

They've mentioned that before: Weekend at Bobby's, I think? It had to have been a callback because I felt like I already knew that. I agree it's funny and very in character though.

Definitely, I wasn't defending the choice as much as I was saying you could see the "seams".

The angel arc is terrible. I like Armstrong and Penikett but wish they had better material.

I believe she did a set visit, and is sort of chummy with people who work on the show?

It really would have made more sense if Abaddon was forcing Crowley to lie and say "I've got the blade, come get it and we'll go kill Abaddon", and then ambush. But then we likely wouldn't have the set-up needed for the final two episodes.

As for the god thing, I remember reading an article that had Kripke basically suggesting that's who Chuck was, and that's why he didn't come back, and it wasn't confirmed, because "where do you go from there?". So confirming that would be newish, but I agree the general concept is not new.

For sure not unprecedented, but I was thinking an all out "we're enemies" might be a nice way to put a different twist on "we're not getting along". My logic was sort of "what's the least surprising thing that the cast/crew would actually read as very surprising?"

Thematically, I see S9 as fairly similar to S5, so I'm seeing a lot of recurrence of these themes. That's not a bad thing as I think it is probably intentional and possibly has a point (same shit, resolving differently, maybe). (But I just did a S5 rewatch 2-3ish months ago so it's still pretty fresh for me).
