Truth is these Federation ships pretty much pilot themselves just like everything in the fully automated, AI driven universal basic income future. Humans are given pointless busywork like being crew on starships to keep them from going stir-crazy doing nothing all day.

It’s fine. It’s a show for young children.

This kind of snark is the exact reason why Kumail seemingly no longer enjoys talking about his physical transformation. He initially seemed legitimately proud of the (truly) hard work he put in changing his physique; which is not easy to do in one’s 40s.

It seems so strange that someone can dedicate his entire life to helping and protecting those who are weaker than him, putting his life on the line every day, all the sacrifices, and yet have it in his heart to be so mean to a genuinely good friend, just because he doesn’t have powers.

Pat wasn’t a kid sidekick. He was an adult sidekick for a kid, which is a weird concept frankly.

You can correct me if I am wrong but I thought standalone was a pretty black and white term referring to if a film or show was a part of a larger franchise or not. The references and setup that Wandavision have, in that definition, makes it definitively not standalone.

I agree on Barsanti as he often writes random shit seemingly to just fill out a minimum word count. But I don’t really agree that Wandavision was a standalone story.

You're just spitting hairs here.

26 episodes of an anime really is not a hard slog at all.  These types of cherry picking lists I think only really are needed for people on the fence for a REALLY long investment--at least twice that long, but particularly those 100+ tv shows.

Oh, I get it: *he’s* terrible, so therefore we call *her* a prostitute. Makes sense.

Seems that final line is calling Grimes a prostitute, and not in a “sex work is work” kind of way. I’m trying to think in what way that sentiment would be out of place on an MRA forum, and am coming up empty.

Try Mira Grant. She writes us living with a semi-contained zombie menace. Great stuff.

Patty Jenkins, is that you?

Sorry... Unless I am 100% sure not a single cent is going to that douche canoe..... I won't be supporting Tripwire.

I swear this is not to be contrary, but my husband and I both thought that it was the complete opposite: possibly the BEST Marvel film we’ve seen.

Personally, I think it’s because it seemed to keep the Marvel feel to a minimum. It felt the most like this is what is going on in the rest of the MCU.

Totally a YMMV

Ugh. If you think this variety of masculine posturing is somehow better than the dick-out version, you're wrong.

Now that's news that's fit to print!

Yeah I thought he was so good. An ego maniac probably didn’t achieve his hopes and dreams and instead had to settle on micromanaging one timeline. Now he hasn’t talked to anybody in a million years and is ready to be done with this shit. Sold me on the cockiness, the craziness, and just empathetic enough.

I really liked it--found him delightfully playful and a bit insane.

I can grok seeing the watch as too slow. I am on the side that loves that movie but you do have to be a person that likes slow burn horror to like it and thats not for everyone.
