Maybe, but I am doubtful that Eobard would work for any version of Barry.

Starfish is clearly meant to be Starro - the villain of the very first issue of JLA.

Also, was I watching a different episode because I really love the Thinker and Sandilands performance and I dug the hell out of this episode. It’s low key and menacing in a way this show hasn’t really done since season 1 Wells. I also

There was a lot of different things going on. The cuts from the Stamets’ deteriorating condition as the ship jumps over again to Burnham’s infiltration and fight with the Klingons was spectactular editing. Mix in Tyler’s obvious PTSD and an incredible score from Russo and you have one of the most dynamic action scenes

See, the mutiny (and the pilot in general, I think) landed with me far more effectively than it did with others. I really felt like we were watching the series finale of “Star Trek: Shenzhou,” and that Georgiou, Burnham, and Saru seemed like characters who had been on adventures together for years.

T’Kuvma was much more charismatic than Voq. I was actually hoping he’d be the main bad guy. He was a lot more honorable than Kol.

What does Star Trek feel like then? I want to better understand what you’re not feeling by knowing what you want to feel. I’m not trying to be snarky, I like this show and it seems perfectly Star Trek to me so just curious.

The music and special effects for the show really have both been excellent.

I thought it was a coincidence, but screengrabs of Lorca’s console after he punches in the coordinates say “Override - Lorca, G.” on the next-to-last line, so...maybe he did it?

-The algorithm to detect cloaked ships must either a) be flawed, b) lost by Discovery before they return to safety, or c) work against this version of the cloaking device but not the Romulan ones that come later.

Being spoiled, it hadn’t even crossed my mind that those flashbacks were supposed to be torture. I just automatically assumed they were really painful surgery.

I think it was Lorca. He set a course for one of the alternate reality nodes instead of actually heading for Starbase 46.

Holy cow, Russo’s scoring was on fire tonight. I cannot WAIT for that album to come out.

Tyler’s memories of being tortured wouldn’t be inconsistent with body reconstruction surgery. And his memories of having sex with L’Rell might’ve been from before he went through it...

Hot take: Star Trek Discovery is great. I’ve adored the aesthetic.

But let’s be honest: Sonequa Martin and Doug Jones are fabulous actors. This is their moment.

Skip along, Skip.

I think the water on Mars thing is there to remind you that it is still 2015, they’ve had a couple of new stories like that in the last two seasons.

I want to check this out, but I think I’ll wait for the linear version.

Maybe during a mind meld?

Well, one way to be sure: if that conversation is never mentioned again, we know it was just bad exposition. :)

These are all good points.
