The only issue is that when you are the poors of the friends and you don't give "enough" ... which I have heard before... from ungrateful peoples. Yeah...

But... as much as you don't want to be flogged ever again (and I'm sorry to hear you have ever been)... do you also dread the idea of never going back to your home, seeing your family, your town, your possessions, and loved ones? Because, as I understood the comments, it was simply a "suggesting she hides in

IF thats the case, go more Arabic-Hebrew-Semetic and go Aylah.

Don't let anyone steal your happy moment. Congrat almost mom!

But thats almost why I feel like my anecdote is relevant. She was mad she spent so much and didn't make back what she felt was "due".... and instead of simply being thankful, she was bratty. I read the article to mean the "more" was in behavior not expenses.

umm... I actually think that brides and grooms should be grateful we attend. Not because I'm doing you such a huge favor, or that you're doing me one... but because you should just be happy to be surrounded by the love of your friends and family.

Its the white house 3 weeks, the RED HOUSE one... NUKE PUTIN on Aunt Flo's Week!

I still would think it's a boy.... or girls writing to mock those boys... TSM/TFM aren't websites to be taken at face value.

MoonCat, you, me and my mom can go back and do that over and over and over.

Heh, well, I prided myself on my ability to be 50/50, but I was a history/education/psychology turned MSW student. I was definitely loud and drunk on Tuesday, and Thursday, and Friday, and Saturday... but hoowee Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday I barely left the library! And I worked part time. I just hate that if

ohhh thats such a low ball even for you, giant troll.

Yeah, definitely... I do know a number of engineers and science PhD's and nurses who came out of my sorority... but its tangential and anecdotal not actual evidence!

I was the representative for the rules of recruitment on my campus as an officer... for all sororities participating in formal recruitment.

My university & many in the north have a deferred rush with 12 college credits under your belt mandatory, attained from the university you are attempting to pledge at, before you can. otherwise, as Lucy Pevensie said - high school in those who allow earlier recruitment.

I don't know, our minimum was a 3.0.... I don't think everyone with a pulse has that. I know the criteria we extended bids on and its definitely not what you are suggesting. Sorry, it's just not.

I guess my issue in your first comment was the idea that they aren't connected, because they are somewhat unified (and also as you noted disjointed). In my experience moving around the country as a post-grad though, my organization has presented me with more like-minded women than not. Maybe I'm just lucky!

As in, this was the practice in your house? In your sorority? Or this is the little bit of information you gleaned from a relatively secretive practice?

I worked with a number of Delt's and as a white woman, sometimes I wish I could be a Delta Sigma Theta woman. They were all so amazing.

Incorrect. It's not just clicking. There is a minimum GPA, there are standards of excellence, and requirements to maintaining good standing - including GPA, service hours, additional campus activities. It's not just that simple and exclusive by popularity as the movies.

Sorry to be a nit picker, but...actually most are national organizations, both the NPHC (all African American orgs) and the NPC ("Social Sororities") and IFC ("Social Fraternities). They have head quarters (most in Indianapolis on "Adult Greek Row") and alumni organization networks in every major city in the US. The
