I worked at a cancer hotline, and the most cringeworthy part of calls were the end where I would ask demographics questions. A vast majority of old white people, when asked their race, say “American.” As someone with native ancestry, I began to delight in getting faux-excited and saying, “Oh, which tribe?”

Sewing machines join edges of material and the size of the item has absolutely nothing to do with the machine needed. People who don’t sew incorrectly assume that there is some type of “pants sewing machine”, a “shirt sewing machine”, etc. There is not. There are flat-felling machines, machines that only do blind

You incorrectly assumed that special machines are needed to sew plus sized clothing, which is false. I’m explaining to you the “business of sewing”, which I’m not sure if you mean the industrial aspect or the design aspect or both.

I sew and there is no such thing as specialized equipment dependant on the body type. Sewing machines seam together material the same way no matter the size and the operators require no special training beyond whatever the regular directions would be for how to piece together everything.

Nothing to see here, just the patriarchy.

Trump supports are enamored with him no matter what. Is it because he’s “rich”? No. Is it because he’s “presidential”? No. etc., etc., etc., for all the reasons. Trump supporters are trapped in an abusive relationship and every story of one of them breaking off and saying, “Eh, this isn’t what I wanted, I regret

I just want you to know that for the rest of my life, if I read about Elon Musk I’ll be thinking, “that’s not Travis”.

My spidey-sense says that Elon is no slouch in the asshole department, but I think he’s the sort to be more a normal-insecure-guy-turned-do-whatever-billionaire who delights in his power and not so much into the domestic violence and slurred drunkenness.

Sadly true. As I can regretfully confirm.

The line he delivered with most clarity was the aw-shucksy “jeez what a double standard to clear the lady but not the prez”.

So it seemed like McCain was coached to build up to the “double standard, very unfair” line, which makes zero sense unless you’re a Trump voter who is ignorant and laps up the poor Trump talking point.

Really, this surprises you? The president of our country basically wants to bang his daughter and thinks nothing of sexually assaulting women. And the vice-president refers to his wife as “mother” and refuses to ever be alone with a woman during business as he cannot fathom treating a woman non-sexually if left to

It’s pretty clear that Weiner was providing the majority of child care for their child, which would likely result in him winning more than 50/50 custody. Which I’m entirely certain he thought about and probably used against Abedin, being the soulless bundle of sperm that he is. After his first transgressions became

I’m suddenly less annoyed that this writer won a Hugo.

When I read “he could be a serial killer” I thought you meant the sheriff. Because it seems like a lot of people die during their incarceration under his watch.

My ex started listening to police scanners when he was 30, which is an activity usually older, infirm people partake of. He’d act really pompous and give me vague warnings about where not to be in the city on any given day, which I’d ignore and then he’d get angry about it. (Like, yeah, I’m sure there WAS criminal

He wanted to nuke them and somebody reeled him in. Seriously.

She just said she values sincerity, sheesh, how DARE you form your own opinion of any aspect of her without completely swallowing her carefully crafted self-assessment.

“Stepping time” was my JAM when I was a small child and my parents got so exasperated with me kick-dancing/somersaulting around the living room pretending to be a chimney sweep.

My mother-in-law had an incredibly weird obsession with buying one HA shirt, pj set and tee for my son every year. Like, she would sit me down with the catalog and spend an excruciating hour debating with me which one of each she’d purchase for my son each year. Then after he’d open them at Christmas, she’d have a
