This is the voice I use when I read Lemony Snicket to my seven year old. It’s like she’s forcing a villain voice.

We no longer have a free unbiased press. And its about to become worse.
Wait until you watch them blame minorities more directly for their problems. They aren’t smart enough to think, “Wait, Trump isn’t fucking helping, he’s trying to use his offspring to turn our nation into his personal banana Republic.”
American media is biased. It will strive to normalize every repugnant action. Calling racists “alt right” is the beginning example.
Ever met a narcissist? They consider themselves the world. And the tiniest of minor inconveniences end their world and they are happy to remorselessly pass that feeling onto anyone within their control. Trump is Pence’s puppet and an ignorant fool so hopefully there are enough levers of government between Trump and…
Seattle is also a sanctuary city.
It’s a way to begin the fascist cleansing process. First you get people acclimated with the notion that refugees are bad. Then you start fomenting fear against specific groups: Muslims, perhaps. Then you just scapegoat the heck out of them so that you never have to own up to any problems or blunders.
It’s very consistent with “family values”, right? A bunch of white, power-wielding men clucking and tutting about “impropriety”. But OH NO we cannot possibly extend legal rights to women over their bodies; doing so might inconvenience a man.
“When you throw up, you only vomit what’s in your stomach.” - I love that analogy, thank you.
I vehemently disagree that people who teach are some kind of rarified angel. I have a special needs son and know all too well that special education teachers can be terrible people.
It’s the classic “I’m not an abusive boyfriend, is just that you keep doing things to make me hit you” line of thought.
Exactly. It goes on and on. It’s the oddest thing about people who’ve managed to acquire unfathomable amounts of wealth and power beyond the limits of the majority of people... they tend to want more and more of it and don’t see anything unseemly about demanding even more than what’s already in their grasp.
Surely you’ve heard the joke about the wealthy landowner who isn’t greedy, he merely wants the land next to his?
I had no idea such a thing existed and I thank you sincerely for posting this.
I see you don’t come from a redneck family who bellows STATES RIGHTS. ...speaking from my own experience.
These are our new overlords. They’re finally in a position to fully seize power while America stands around impotently either gasping in terror or cheering like simpletons.
I’m going to go out on a limb and suppose that Pence was tweaking the legalese for his own nefarious reasons.
Protip: anyone with more money than sense who spends their time isolated from all but a select few people who are completely loyal suckups and yet still desires the fawning adulation of the unwashed masses who yells BELIEVE ME as their most eloquent debate point should probably not be trusted.
I bought a fresh Costco pack of nicotine lozenges. All the nicotine goodness, zero cancery/lung destroyed badness. Been a decade since I last lit up!
Same.
