Hey, you know Jim too?

How in God’s name do you find these??? I swear to God, if you pick three words at random, $kay can find a picture relevant to it. That’s the craziest skill.

This sums up what just about everyone was thinking.

I wouldn’t count it out. A set of junkyard doors are maybe $200, a $100 windshield and a bath. So all in maybe $350 and you’re back in the game, baby.

I’m kind of impressed by the effort and commitment here. This spurned lover (I’m just assuming) went out and bought five new pick-axes for this occasion. That’s like $150 worth of tools there.

That thing probably has all the structural rigidity of a box of donuts.

Don’t forget to get your card stamped. Tenth fish is on the house.

I drive a Ram and had a guy on a bike hit my truck once and he was clearly in the wrong. I got out, apologized (again, something I didn’t think I needed to since I wasn’t in the wrong) helped him up and we were on our way in less than a minute. He said something about how bikers have the right of way and I told him

Canadian #COTD!!!

If this is your first night at fish club, you have to fish.

No, we do NOT have a racist past. We have a racist past and present, with no pause or stop in between. See: living conditions of people on reservations and ignoring the disappearance and murders of uncounted indigenous girls and women.

We’re just like gun-less Americans with good healthcare and awfully expensive data plans.

First rule of fish club: You do not talk about fish club.

Having owned a BHPH lot, financed customers through Santander/Westlakes and the like AND having been in some aspect of the car business for 15 years now I can tell you the problem is 3 fold.

That’s a very good point. My parents were loathe to talk to my sister and I about finances growing up. In 9th grade though, we had to take home economics and business. That’s where I learned to balance a check book, budget for monthly expenses, and even how to tie a tie. Some parents never learned these things and

Added bonus: Buying and older car outright allows him to run liability insurance only, another issue mentioned with the Ram in the article (full coverage cost).

Incorrect, many people care what other people drive and what your domicile looks like and where it’s located. Just because a handful of Jalopnik readers are so above it all in every regard doesn’t mean squat when the dude in the article is representitive of a far greater number of actual people than the self indulgent

I thought the same thing. He had $4K. He could have bought a decent vehicle for that price, there’s plenty out there. My guess is he saw the truck and wanted it regardless of what it was going to cost him. Now he’s out $4K, a vehicle and has an even lower credit score. He was played by his own ego.
