I do appreciate all the points you're making, but nonetheless, I don't think you should ever watch "Galaxy Quest." It might hurt too much. :o)

I have Hirst's original script from the pilot. Based on that, I would say he has succeeded in creating exactly what he intended to create: dramatic historical fiction. If you dislike it so much, you don't have to watch it, you know.
