If you side with the officer and the w/m’s story, then the officer should have immediately placed him under arrest! Correct? BUT b/c he claims he knew the B/F had outstanding TRAFFIC warrants, it was more important to place her under arrest - God forbid it was the W/M whom just admitted he had assaulted a child!
