Either GM lags; or they try to lead, put out something half-baked, then kill it due to poor reviews just as it’s becoming a decent automobile. The Corvair, Fiero, and EV-1 are all examples (although GM made good use of lessons learned from the EV-1 later.)

As I’ve said before, this is the whole issue I have with GM. They lag and lag behind the industry, and then when they finally do what everyone else has been doing, they want all kinds of pomp and circumstance for it. Then, after they get it right, the entire project loses steam and gets cancelled.

Audi moved to turbocharging in all of those engines about 5 years ago.

Hardly anyone is supercharging anything now, except for the American automakers and, like, Jaguar Land Rover.

Only problem is there are a lot more of “them” now... see: Idiocracy

We have to vote more than them.

And yet, the boomers will still vote for him.

The Trump Budget announced today is atrocious. $800 billion in cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Drastic cuts to environmental protection and the total elimination of advanced clean energy research. No real plan to deal with deficits or debt. All around a travesty.

I don’t know why you would expect a large price disparity between the Civic hatchback and Crosstrek. The Crosstrek is just your bog standard slowass Impreza hatchback with some plastic cladding instead of plastic vents and a small lift.

“What’s the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy shit on the wall and the mozzarella sticks?”

And Lamborghini is limiting the production to 3,500 units a year, so it does not become too “common”.

Or as it’s put in the article “sorta-racist”.

The details are that they’re entitled assholes

Entitled asshole car company that makes cars for entitled assholes, acts like an entitled asshole. Details at 11

Yup. Then the non functional gauges cemented it as someone else's half assed project.

I was all in until the shredded top and body damage. CP

How the hell did you go through that much analysis without even mentioning the one DIRECT competitor to the Miata (minus the convertible-ness): The Subaru BRZ / Toyota 86.

Honestly, what other car in the mid $20k price range provides the performance and feel of a Miata?
A quick non-comprehensive survey of the competition makes the Mazda an even more compelling value for pure sports car lineage. There are all great cars and more practical, but they are also all hotted up econoboxes.

I was 5 in 1989 so I have more buying power now.
