Disagree. The original by EdnaSwap is pretty downbeat. It doesn’t sound all that different from Tori Amos, especially before the 2nd verse kicks in.

don’t ruin this for me
All great examples, I would add Cash’s “Hurt”, NIN’s cover of “Dead Souls”, Siouxsie and the Banshees’ cover of “The Passenger” and Bowie’s cover of “Wild is the Wind” to that list
It’s definitely more common for older songs, particularly the ones that started out as folk and whose authorship is hazy at best.
“All Along The Watchtower”, “Hey Joe”, “My Little Red Book”
I’d say that’s some distinguished company.
Neat! I’ve always liked Torn, partly because it’s a cover that’s better than the original, which is a weird category to belong to.
I feel liberated, thank you.
I’ll watch if in this adaptation Kira decides to target oligarchs and robber barons instead of petty criminals.
The only thing they should keep from the 2017 version is Willem Dafoe. I think the motion capture of his face was even more important than his voice for giving the character his unsettling gravitas.
I’ve gotten the other bundles and I’m getting this one. I may not play the games, but at least I know the money is going to a good cause.
Can’t speak to what you’re specifically talking about RE: “just vote” criticism/anti-criticism, but I know there’s an astroturfing movement by right wingers out there trying to get Dems to not vote by saying it’s hopeless/implying voting won’t be enough/that the Dems are useless. I mean, I know they’re ridiculously…
Because the Democrats continue to fight an asymmetrical war. Every time the republicans are in power they break new political norms ruin things and then when the Dems take over and have to fix the mess they revert back to the old norms. The just vote frustration is that Dems currently have the trifecta and at least…
Even holding people responsible for “letting” Trump come to power always seemed weird to me.
Sir, this is the internet. You are going to have to take your reasonable and measured opinion somewhere else.
So he’s not religious or spiritual but he believes in God and regularly attends church, and he’s not homophobic but he’s turning a blind eye to homophobia because he likes his church and his pastor and homophobia doesn’t really affect him. Got it.
There are dozens of us. Dozens!
There is an open question of how many (if any) of the people he was “next to” were ever actually in his presence (as the article points out, Olsen never met the man) which might put a dimmer on his performance.
Why? Three different looking Spider-Mans met each other in the Marvel film that came out just prior to this. And only maybe 50% of Lokis looked like Hiddleston.
If Trump actually had the Death Note, he’d probably write his name on the first page to let everyone know it’s his book.
