The Oval-jerk

As adults, the influence we have on our parents is our presence in their lives. Don’t talk to her or visit or talk about her to people she talks to regularly. As long as we clearly express why we are upset by our parent, they will know why we aren’t on speaking terms, and it may cause them to reevaluate their choices

I honestly don’t know why this is such a sucker punch for me. I know republicans have a hardon for discriminating against trans people like myself, but how can they justify luring our transgender troops into serving openly, then ban them. It’s so fucked up...

I have had at least one bully since kindergarten, making me feel unsafe at school, on the bus, in class, and walking anywhere in public. A guy at my high school, let’s call him B, spent years making a point to call me a faggot each day multiple times. B would see me walking between classes, and when my back was turned

Thank you for this, it’s so hard to talk about my own anxieties. It helps to be reminded I’m not alone. (It took me 10 minutes to type, delete, retype, edit, delete, retype, then edit and decide not to use an emoji for this)

I completely agree that white, male, cis, straight, able, and wealthy privilege are very real, and not theoretical and can be illustrated with empirical evidence and statistics. I’m not saying feelings and ambivalence excuse it. However, any male privileges that trans women like me theoretically received, as you are

I’ve heard a lot of people frame their lack of acceptance of transgender women because of their male-privilege. If you’ll forgive my trans-splaining, as a trans woman, it’s exceptionally frustrating to have cis people assume that I ever was able to enjoy male-privilege prior to my transition.

It’s like they all just learned what the internet was, preceded to be mean awful to anyone they saw as remotely critical/mean toward a salesperson they never met. I get jumping to the defense of your friends, but these aren’t Jillian’s friends.

He sounds sooooo boring... I feel sorry for the women he deigns to date from now on.

While gender identity isn’t mentioned, part of the whole protection of trans people was wrapped up in this type of expanded ruling about sexual discrimination. Keep in mind that the people doing the discrimination view trans issues as sexual ones, and discriminate based on their biases.

I feel like I have to watch that movie now ;)

I have so much candy to buy now, west coast doesn’t seem to have the same selection however...

Jesus...

One more awesome reason to say “Thanks Obama!” I’m seriously going to miss having such an awesome president.

Maybe by “loving” the jerks and bigots, Jones meant there’s gonna be a lot of interventions...

I hear what you’re saying, but I think you’re missing one step. We also need to comfort and support the people behind us. Whether it’s the newly questioning, identifying, coming out, or transitioning LGBTQ person, persons of color, persons of iniquity, and women, I think we have to have a kind helping hand for them.

Just imagine having to shower off all that cheeto residue. There’s no way it’s worth it.

Talk about robbing the casket ;)

This is where concerned citizens enforce the law with concealed weapons, angry screams and physical violence. Having a policy on the books that state it's open season on anyone who is perceived to be gender nonconforming is essentially endorsing hate. It doesn't just effect trans people either, feminine men and

I hesitate to tell people who have managed to make it through abuse that there’s any one best way to describe themselves. My ex abused me, and if someone were to tell me I was wrong to call myself a victim or a survivor, I’d find it all kinds of invalidating. I honestly think that having a stranger as an abuser and
