That’s the big issue here, they are refusing to actually give the pertinent information that could help people instead of some sort of vague clickbait. If they cared not only about public health, but basic journalistic standards, brands and the like would be named.
I suspect that the CDC may not release that information until they’ve finished their investigation but I’m surprised that it hasn’t leaked out through other channels. I saw another commenter point out that they had read that these were THC pods so it’s possible sources are keeping silent out of legal concerns.
yuuuuuup. These things are not all equal. Let’s find exactly what component is the issue...
i agree. why are none of these news reports telling us exactly which product all of these people were using??
yeah, Shenzhen is pumping out the cartridges without regard to lead or cadmium in the heating element to people’s detriment.
I’m mad at you for making me remember this.
Another big issue is that both hemp and cannabis plants are bioaccumulators meaning that they take and enhance whatever they are getting from their environment. So if growing conditions are not clean and organic, the end product will have a concentration of all of the pesticides and toxins that were taken in by the…
Also, these underground operations tend to use shitty cartridges that likely contain lead.
I vaped cannabis (or whatever the children call it these days) a few weeks ago, first time I smoked anything since 2010. I got high as fuck and then slept like a world-class champion. That is the extent of my research.
I only wish that it was clear whether the sick people were buying commercially prepared pods/liquid or something produced in a shadier environment.
That was smoking in the 70s. I remember movie theaters and buses full of tobacco smoke when I was a kid
It appears at least some of the ones in Wisconsin appear to be related to black market THC vape cartridges. As legalization and quasi-legalization under medical laws has spread vape cartridges have become big money.
Personally, I never feel bad for being overdressed, I always just feel bad for everyone who's underdressed. I'm such a snob. lol
I’m fascinated following this conversation between you two! If you turn out to be related and reunited by The Takeout they should do an article about it.
Elbow macaroni, ground beef, onions - and whatever the fuck else you wanted to get out of the fridge! Can of tomato paste? LOL
My dad used to make this as well, which he learned from his dad. It’s always been described to me roughly the same as you mentioned, a goulash, or single dish meal made from most of the leftovers in the fridge. No set recipe. Honestly until today I thought this was something my grandpa just made up because I’ve never…
HA! Pretty sure there was no slum in slumgullion...
The mountains of Tennessee!
My mother made something called slumgullion - NO idea if that’s a correct or even close spelling - it was basically a type of goulash from leftovers. I wonder how many of these type of dishes exist? Probably as many as there are regions. Legions. ;)
